No problem, beanie, when you're ready.
That storm came to play! It was snowing, but it was only sticking on the *windows* I guess because of the wind. Never seen that before. Problem solved when it turned to rain, but really not a good day weatherwise - except its cracking the flags now
Found a self made avatar :j since it includes a bottle of Asti, it may not sit well with traditionalists, but I'm not exactly a traditionalist in any arena :rotfl:still got to muck about with it tho.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Glad that your mum was ok xx
Re: tracing Irish ancestors - not at all easy at times! My birth surname is Irish - and we've got one chap in the tree who was born with it written one way in the parish records, married in the records with it spelled another way - and his gravestone has another slightly different spelling! Comes down to illiterate family members!
I also have Welsh ancestors - called Jones..... many of whom also seem to be named David.....!!!!:rotfl:I am the master of my fate; I am the captain of my soulRepaid mtge early (orig 11/25) 01/09 £124616 01/11 £89873 01/13 £52546 01/15 £12133 07/15 £NILNet sales 2024: £200 -
Thanks greent
I have Jones ancestors too - Richard, at least, in my case
One of my Irish ancestors is an absolute classic - Patrick Connor :rotfl:
I've spent about 90% of my free time today on finding a bleeping avatar - absolutely ridiculous. In the end, I've used a photo I took back in the 1990s. Mad. Overthinking now, its crazy. Stooooooooopppppppppp!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

As in William? Wow! One of the sad things for me is that a cousin is also fond of genealogy, but she's not a good researcher, and she's putting in some really dodgy stuff. I disapprove :rotfl: but I have to let it go.
I've also let go the avatar hunt :rotfl: I like the ones I've chosen, even though they're not photos of me and they won't fit into every social media site I'm working on. I really don't care any moreSo I *might* finish off today by updating a few of those pics, but not goodreads, I need to do a lot more there. I might hunt out that list from a few days ago, and see what I've done

This is the remainder of a list from about a week ago:
- use *paper* to sort out train departures and arrivals. The length of the trip is another thing thats got me panicking - leaving the house at 9.30, and not getting to the hotel till close on 6.
Yes! And booked.
- anyway, phone my mum with the results
Did that too.
- email sister and niece with the results too.
And that. And my sister, at least, has emailed back.
- publish another blog post.
Yep.
- put collected rubbish in bin.
Only today, mind
- avatar for the other online persona is needed.
Also today. Been rabbiting ad infinitum about that
- online Asda order.
No! The only one :j:j:j will do tomorrow, for next week.
- get quotes from Hunger Games books for Buttercup The Wonder Cat.
Sort of - copied the pages ready to collect the quotes.

Blimey.
North Berwick is one of my very very favourite places in t he world.
One day I will go back on a trip down memory lane.
I like North Berwick as well - sandy beaches are always good.
Last time I was in North Berwick I was standing in the little promotory they have just north of the cafe, in the bay. Then, this lass came climbing up over the wall leading down the the rocks.
She was dressed in a suit, with shiny heeled shoes. Not the garb for going on the beach, and certainly the absolute opposite of rock scrambling gear.
It was one of those "Oh yeah?" moments...Those were the days my friend, we thought they would never end.
Beware of nostalgia; it's not what it used to be.This is the remainder of a list from about a week ago:

If you're worried about the journey, you could always spend some time in the train restaurant. It's not KFC prices, but it is roomier and a change of scenery from your normal seat.
And food of course - don't forget the food... :rotfl:"Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Glad your mum is ok! Hope that you manage to locate the number of the friendly neighbour.

It's energy levels, Z - as long as I can lean back with my head on the seat, I *should* be okay, as its end May. As a vegetarian who can eat very little wheat, and very little cow's diary, I'll take my own foodthere'll be so many times over the visit that I have to eat one of those two, I'd better not do it on the actual journey
Glad your mum is ok! Hope that you manage to locate the number of the friendly neighbour.

That cancellation thing was weird but brilliant :j:j:j
