My garden is happy :) No more footling about with the trowel. I got my big trainers on and dug in with the big fork - complete bramble lifted out :) my rhubarb will be happier next year.

No possibility of using the patio chair this morning! Its been gently persisting down for about 3 hours, and the heavy rain is forecast to start soon, rats.

Back at work on Monday too, and I have some admin calls of my own that I have to make today. Plus the blogs to sort - buttons, pix, log in details, blah.

Plus I did a You Gov survey just now - I'm determined to get to that £50 again! Currently at 4,155 :)

The euro is interesting right now - I transferred over more than I needed on Monday, because I was pretty sure the exchange rate was at a temporary peak. It may go higher again later in the year, of course (when I'll send more), but I was on the nose for the moment - if I was sending that same money *today*, I'd have got 40 euros less for it! Just goes to show.

Up to London tomorrow - there's a certain little Anglo-French one year old I'm going to see :j:j:j Checking fares on the trainline, not going to let the layout of the fares on offer at the local machine cheat me :D

Those poor guys at the place where I'm hosting my accounts now! They have the patience of saints.

Mind you, the rain is still persisting down ...

I'm going to have a celebratory cup of coffee :coffee:

  • You sound happy today, KC, despite the rain:T. It's been pretty heavy here this afternoon and is now just a miserable drizzle.

I hope you have a lovely time in London tomorrow, KC:beer:. I wish we lived nearer to a direct rail route, we have to change trains part way there, it's a bit of a slow process. Haven't been to London for years. Skirted it several times since on the way to various airports but never stopped. The last time we had a break in London there were IRA bomb scares all the time and we saw the musical Cats which still had the original cast and Elaine Page played Grizabella. We also saw Barnum with a young Michael Crawford. We were in a cinema in the West End watching the newly-released Indiana Jones when there was a bomb scare and we all had to troop out:mad:. So that must have been in the very early 1980s, maybe 1981:eek:.

To think I haven't been to London for about 34 years is positively disgraceful:o. Really must put that right.

    Hello :)

Thanks for the good wishes - yep, I'm doing well right now, the blogs are almost completely sorted out, I did a Norfolk post about cats and it worked :j and Goldie's right, the weather here is *much* better than yesterday, which is a relief.

Just popped on to check for updates re today's trip, and there aren't any, which is good, so I'm off to finish preparing now. Will most definitely enjoy baby cuddles, if he'll let me hold him. He's used to different environments already - I think he's probably been to France about 6 - 7 times already :D so one more lot of rellies should be fine :)

Yikes to the bomb scares, CBC! It was a bad time, wasn't it ... I've probably said I heard one go off (it was miles away, a big one tho), seen ambulances dashing to a much nearer one, evacuated etc, if you weren't around at the time, its difficult to imagine that sort of thing happening in mainland Britain, but it was. Though never in Liverpool, too Irish: Shaun on here used to call Dublin "West Liverpool" :D

Hope everyone has a great day, take the chance to enjoy the weather :)

ETA - PS, another you gov survey done - up to 4205 points now!
