Thanks Cheery! Yep, its a bit of a minefield, that's for sure. I've just realised she might be able to do what Goldie's friend does with ebay - get someone else to do the listing and split the proceeds, so I'll run that by her and then get right on to the cleaning I have to do :rotfl:2023: the year I get to buy a car0

If she can find the right person it's mutually beneficial - I've been selling for my friend for nearly 3 years, and the money raised has been very helpful.
Actually, I spoke to my friend today, she's having a sort out over the weekend, so I can expect another batch soon.
I hope you get some results from elance, as you are putting in so much effort, you deserve a reward.Early retired - 18th December 2014

Aww, thank you both
Elance not awarded yet (39 proposals) maybe some people just don't follow through? I'll plug away at it - my business partner's niece, and the records of people getting jobs on there, both show that it takes a while to break through. I'll keep tweaking the applications, and working at it, but I'm not going to worry about it. I might look at textbroker too, I haven't followed up there since the approval I received. And I've got the idea for another book - about water. Lots of new ideas "sloshing" about
Paid work-wise today, 1 hour around lunchtime, and the inbox on my desk is looking a bit stupidthere's a cc bill to pay, but I'm sure a lot of it can be chucked away. I need to decide if I'm going to actually open the santander123 account or not, the paperwork's sitting there.

Oh, my friend liked the description I told her of what you do, Goldie - when the disability paperwork's sorted out, I think she'll give ebay a go, tho it sounds like she's still closing her website.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

sorry to read about your friend. You just 'don't know' as you said!Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!0 -
Thanks Watty - yep, because the women in my family are pretty long lived, even tho there's cancer and all sorts of other ills, something like that never occurred to me. My grandad was blind (I remember playing around with his glass eye, I'm not kidding!) but that was because of a motorbike crash.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Loving the thread at the moment. Always such interesting ideas and views being exchanged.:T
I just came on now for a quick rant:mad:. Sorry you lovely people have to suffer it but there's no one here but me (even the cat has gone out:rotfl:) and I know Karmacat has mentioned some epic phone issues herself so I know she'll empathise.
I recently upgraded my BT package to include Unlimited broadband, and was very pleasantly surprised at how little extra it was going to cost after all the discounts to various components of the package. I was so surprised that I got the very patient young man to go through it all twice and I made sure I wrote all the costs down. The follow-up confirmation email detailed all the same charges. So far so good.
Since then my latest monthly DD has gone out for £9 more than I expected:eek:, which I was not too worried about as it included some of the month on the old rate(without the discounts) and some on the new, But the predicted amount from next month will be more still, and definitely a lot more than I agreed when I 'signed up' for it.
That's not the real cause of the rant, though. Sorry if you are nodding off by now:o. I've just spent over an hour of my life that I won't get back trying to work my way through BT's endless phone menus, having to give allsorts of account and other details to each person I was passed on to and having to go through the whole rigmarole again with each new number/department I had to call. Each of the 4 operatives in the various departments spent ages checking all my details and then came up with a totally different price. What is wrong with these people?
Eventually, when I was losing the will to live but, like the proverbial dog with a bone, determined not to give up, I was put through to someone who actually knew what was wrong with all the other prices and sorted it out once and for all:j.
Not holding my breath until next month's 'true' DD goes out though.
Sorry KC:A:A:A
Now for a pot of tea and a paracetomol.0
