Hello both - I'm not bad at all now, thanks - it was a bit upsetting to have to cut it short, I'll be honest, but I felt terrible :( Not done anything much today - pottered for half an hour here and there - dishwasher, washing machine and hanging out the clothes, getting the rubbish and the recycling in their bins, that kind of thing. I've just done an online order for Sainsbo too, got a £1 slot - it saves me such a lot of energy to get *them* to bring it to my door.

Walked to the local village this afternoon (10 minute walk through a nature reserve :) ) and imagined what life could be like, still living round here, if I was retired and had enough money to live properly - the WI, the Horticultural Society, the Town Guild, the Astronomy Club in the next town, Egyptology in the county at large (and there's a folk dance club, which I've always liked, but I'd have to suss it out first :p) plus a walking group - together with existing family and friends, it could be really, really nice.

Got to get my act together - cook carefully, make money, get my health back, age-appropriate :D

Thanks SF! It's odd, isn't it - it's not about flash cars, or the latest this and that, it's "what quality of life can I have, how interesting are things around here if I don't have to focus on how to earn money all the time, and just follow my interests instead" - there's loads, just within walking distance!

That's even better that it's all within walking distance - exercise thrown in for good measure! :D

Hope you're feeling better and :T to simple pleasures :).
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

    Get well soon.

Thank you for reminding me how much I enjoy Greek food, it's something I've not had in a long time and will maybe have to look at some recipes online. :)

    Morning!

I'm feeling much better, thanks, though I'm going to freeze the remaining "hobnob" cookies and have them in a week or so, in smaller portions :o

Greek food used to get such a bashing - I do remember it back in the 70s as being very lukewarm, and very, very oily, so that's probably why :D nothing like what's sold now.

I didn't use the reduced final fee offer from ebay, which is grrr, but I finally have a bid on a DVD set, so that's good :)

Nothing huge today either - backing up the computer, bit of work in the garden, get that DVD ready to post and I *have* to do some cleaning today, as I'm starting work tomorrow quite early for me :o

I might be watching Star Trek Into Darkness :D though I also have to research why rhubarb shouldn't be allowed to flower ...

Any use on the rhubarb question?

Hi CBC, thank you for the linkie :) thats really good! All I need, actually - I'll be out there this afternoon. I'm also considering drying some seeds from the garden - sorrel, and maybe the rhubarb too, just as an experiment - not necessarily for plants, but for microgreens. I like thinking up weird and wonderful experiments to blog about :D though I very rarely get round to the actual blogging :o

I've been on the computer so far :o I'm backing up on my external hard drive - taking forever, but I don't have to actually do anything beyond a few clicks, after all! So now its a snack and off to play outside.

How's your rellie visit going? Still good?
