I keep meaning to read "The Time Machine" (and not the users' manual).
KC now you have effectively written a review of the book, can you post it anywhere to 1. Make some of your money back 2.Make you feel better?
Book sounds deathly.0 -
Al, I'll certainly post it on Amazon, as its a kindle version ... I'll see if its on dooyoo, too. And I might just find if the authors have websites of their own, and contact them
throwing my professional qualifications at them too
What it does have is lists - what to put in a sleep diary, that sort of thing. Its more convenient to keep the book than delete it, so I'm keeping it. But I'll transfer my notes to my kindle in time for my next appointment and give the specialist the benefit of my insightpolitely, of course
CBC, microgreens are basically seeds of edible plants that you grow on for about 10 days ... http://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2014/sep/26/eat-shoots-and-small-leaves-how-to-grow-microgreens-in-winter
HG Wells ... well, War of the Worlds isn't bad, but The Time Machine is depressing ... and bear in mind I *enjoy* apoca fiction :rotfl:
I have 3 hours work today, plus a supermarket delivery (hurray to the delivery) so any physical effort I deign to make will be in the garden, which is starting to look a little more accessible, though the back of the borders are now overgrown again with bindweed, grass and buttercups. Such is life. I googled buttercups, to find the right genus, and found its the name of a sanctuary for goats :j2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
I love goats. The plops wants me to get her one.0

Yep, I think they're brilliant :j:j:j2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Thanks very much for the microgreens link, KC:T. Will look into doing some of that myself.
Yay to goats:j. Love donkeys more though. My brother's family used to home a seaside donkey over several winters when they lived near the coast and had a huge garden/paddock for it to graze and wander in. It was the sweetest, gentlest creature imaginable. Took a starring role in the church nativity every year too. They still 'kept in touch' with it when they moved to another part of the country:rotfl:.0 -
Donkeys, goats, chickens, rabbits - anything with a bit of character, I love them
Last hour of work coming up, its on the phone so I can close my eyes - woke up at 5am this morning, so its a bit yawn-y today!
Hope everyone's doing good.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
I never really enjoyed much by Wells, although Jack London (a recent favourite author), loved him!woke up at 5am this morning, so its a bit yawn-y today!
Nice lie in0 -
Uh oh. The trailer guys just offered me a load of goats.0
-
Sorry Ed, I forgot about your changed situation :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Never read any Jack London - I did watch the Rutger Hauer film of White Fang??? (cos it had a one liner from Michael Shanks) but I don't think I've read anything of his ... what's your fave?
Al!!! Did you want a whole trailerfull? Potentially very exciting :j
I'm taking a bit of time to get going today - even by *my* standards, I had a lie-in - didn't get up till 7.15 :j
Got a session later on today, and I *really* need to pay attention to some paperwork, though whether that means I'll do it is anybody's guess, including mine
Otherwise - a bit of grass remains to be cut so the garden can be inspected on Saturday. I may take refuge in continuing to write the article I've been drafting ...2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Been decluttering bits and bobs here and there (I've finally lost count, so thats good
) and there's one thing I don't need to bother doing: I was on ebay getting ready to sell my copy of In Search Of Stones, M Scott Peck's journey around prehistoric Scotland, and I opened it up to check on the condition - not saleable, in brief! It was soaked in the flood I had last-house-but-one, and it shows. One for the charity shop
Also got to celebrate getting on the right side of the crazy Holland & Barrett pricing. Linseed needed, and I had a £1 voucher to use up. Brown linseed, £5.98 per kilo. Golden was on half price offer, its usually 50% more than the brown, heaven knows why, so between the half price offer and my voucher, I got a kilo for £2.48. Result :j
Also a lesson on nausea: sometimes its because your blood sugar's low. Sez so on the website, and it was true todayDon't know why, I stuff my face all the time. "I've got to eat lots and lots, its a medical condition"
