    Also a lesson on nausea: sometimes its because your blood sugar's low. Sez so on the website, and it was true today :) Don't know why, I stuff my face all the time. "I've got to eat lots and lots, its a medical condition" :D

    Great pity about the ruined book:( but well done on beating H&B at their own unfathomable game:T

    Your mention of eating lots and lots reminds me of the common shrew which needs to eat 2 or 3 times its own body weight per day just to survive. It can't live for longer than 5 hours without a feed:eek:. Sounds like my SIL who is stick-thin but never seems to stop eating:rotfl:

    I'm a shrew then :D

    How appropriate that I've just bounced online temporarily to put a linkie in place to this Guardian article: http://www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/womens-blog/2015/may/28/spare-rib-the-top-10-reads-from-the-archives

    Spare Rib is available online from the British Library! Linkie in the article :) I must say, I don't remember much humour :p but I'm chuffed to see it archived :j

    Here's to forgetting how many items have been decluttered:beer:

    I've made a rod for my own back but keeping a running total. As I've got to over 300 I feel I can't just stop doing the numbering. But next year I will have no targets or running totals in my signature - I don't need to do that in my new life!

    That sounds great :beer:

    I love that phrase, "my new life" - I keep thinking about my new life all the time, mostly because this current one doesn't really meet my needs :o Had a hunt in my town on rightmove for apartments, and found one thats a maisonette - my nephew bought one like it last year in Chiswick, and they seem a really great idea - there're ground floor flats underneath, but the maisonette is a house plonked on top. No garden to look after, but there are "grounds", and I'm sure I could plant the odd rosemary shrub :) Plus neighbour noise minimised.

    I was due to head to my sister's today, as she and my mum are returned from France, but she has a cold (and knows I don't want to be in the same room as her in that state if it can be avoided :o) so she'll drop my mum here to inspect the garden, and pick her up an hour or so later. Better than nothing, and I don't have to travel when I'm nauseous.

    So long as it doesn't have a shrew in its mouth.
  • Apparently the shrew produces a substance from its glands that makes it unpalatable to cats and other creatures. Doesn't stop my cat catching and killing them even though he doesn't eat them:eek:.

    Oh blimey :eek::eek::eek:

    I hadn't really put the two together :o:rotfl:

    The visit yesterday went well - garden was inspected and Found To Be Good :rotfl: and in fact, my mum wrote down the names of a few edible plants - the lemon balm particularly impressed her, it looks like its been pruned into a huge football, to within an inch of its life, but I've done nothing at all to it - which makes it all the more impressive :j

    Sideways drizzle this morning :eek: no chance I'm going out yet :eek: thank heavens I can have a pootle around here :j

    It's really miserable here today too; cold and drizzle-y. Planning to potter around the house and do some jobs :)
