    And here's my list:
    [STRIKE]- banking[/STRIKE]
    done

[STRIKE]- Iceland - feta cheese, broccoli, maybe onions, nom ... [/STRIKE]
Iceland don't do feta any more  so didn't buy anything else either, will do a work-around.

[STRIKE]- contact business partner, we have a misunderstanding about our next meeting, aka we don't have the same thing in the diary :D[/STRIKE]
He's a wonderful human being who didn't even moan at me (much) :D

[STRIKE]- reciprocate birthday card to cousin who caused the family ruckus last year - I might end up living within a mile of her for a while, I want things socially acceptable, no matter how problematic the history.[/STRIKE]
Sent, but the sticky didn't work on the envelope, so I used lots of tracking stickies instead, it looked terrible :rotfl: but at least it was just on the back of the envelope.

[STRIKE]- send off sunkettle that went on the blink :) and email them.[/STRIKE]
purposely not done :D I shall wait and see.

[STRIKE]- prune ivy and leylandii - then wash hair *immediately*, such a lot of yuck in those branches![/STRIKE]
done the pruning but not the hair washing ... will do in the next hour.

    - ingredients are out on the table for twink's hobnobs :j:j:j
And they're still there. Might delay the hair washing in favour of doing this so they can cook *while* I wash my hair :D

    KC, another Graecophile :j

Like you, I remember long idyllic visits to the Greek islands in my youth, long before the club culture spoilt so many beautiful towns and villages. Without exception, every Greek I met was warm, friendly, patient, incredibly helpful and generous in possessions and spirit. I feel so sorry for the suffering that the Greeks must be enduring at the moment. I hope they'll ride out the storm and that tourists haven't taken advantage of their desperation.

Greek food is my absolute favourite and I'm always happy to fight its corner when foodies start to mock or look down Greek cuisine. Maybe it's the lavish use of lamb in many of the dishes that appeals to me so much:j. Sorry, KC, but I'm not a vegetarian:(.

    Hi CBC :)

I could have written that post :)

But please don't fret about not being veggie - I'm surrounded by non-veggies, it's nothing to me! There's a bushcrafty lady on a bushcraft-type forum I go to who's breeds rabbits for meat, and I'm fascinated at her small-scale production of such high quality meat. No probs :)

Like you, I wonder about how things will turn out for Greece, how they'll cope - I won't go into it on here; but I do look at Tsipras and Varoufakis and think about their different approaches, the poor Greeks live in the Chinese definition of "interesting times".

    "Interesting times" indeed!

I knew you wouldn't mind references to meat on your thread or ban carnivores from posting on it:rotfl:.

You've reminded me of how I love rabbit meat. My old cat used to love it too, this one just catches his own:eek:. I haven't had any for years although it's shot locally and widely available in several local butchers' during the season. I'm not squeamish but I don't think I'd have the stomach to skin one and do all the rest to prepare it for cooking:o. I suppose they'd do it if asked. We used to have it a lot (bought ready-prepared) until the myxomatosis (spelling?)outbreak and then for years it just wasn't to be seen. They started importing it already skinned from China but I never fancied that after reading rumours of it being cat:eek:.

Greece has changed significantly in even the last decade, 'all you can' has had a detrimental effect on communities, even on islands that were already quite touristy. Why bother running a taverna where the hotel complex down the road can serve freezer food from steam trays to 300 tourists in half an hour?

They sell skinned bunnies on the meat counter in my local supermarket. TBH, not enough meat to warrant the effort :o.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Oh, my friend liked the description I told her of what you do, Goldie - when the disability paperwork's sorted out, I think she'll give ebay a go, tho it sounds like she's still closing her website.

That's good, hope it works out for her

My nan used to do rabbit pie, and it was fantastic. I think the rabbit came from a local farm - my great uncle was a farm worker.

One of my first ever holidays abroad was in Corfu. It brings back so many happy memories of being young and carefree. We called into Corfu Town on a cruise a few years ago. It was a wet Sunday morning..... So not quite as I remembered it, but still very nice.

    Have a good weekend:)

I'm sad to hear that. When I was in the mood to emigrate, Greece would've been my first choice, I love Greece, ancient and modern - if there were local Greek societies, the same way that there are Egyptian societies, I'd join that one, for preference.

Lovely! I think my first holiday abroad on my own was an 18-30 to Majorca :o it wasn't as bad then as it is now, but it was still pretty bad. In Greece, otoh, when I went to Mykonos, there was only one disco, and it played Greek music for the *men* only to dance to. Very Greek. Very wonderful.
    Have a good weekend:)
Thanks, I will - I'm out soon, just popped on to say hi. You have a good one too, and everyone else an'all :kisses3:

    Me again :)

Lovely day out yesterday, and lovely to actually *see* my mum again, but my sister had to bring me home early - I was really sick :( I adapted Twink's hobnob recipe a bit too far or not quite enough, it was too fatty, and it made me ill :( better now.

Quiet day today after that - I'm going to focus on the garden all this week, see if I can get it vaguely into a state where my mum can at least walk around it safely if she pops over on the resting day coming back from France. Might even harvest some of the green leafy stuff :)
