Hi folks :) Watty, I don't think tenants think of the health problems, they just think its *your* structural problem - thats changing, because of the publicity around Brittany Murphy etc, but as you know even I, as an owner occupier, have been pretty slow to take it all on board :o

When I rented out my London flat, while I went to live with my boyfriend, I came back to horrendous black mould in the bathroom - simply because the tenants never opened the bathroom window, it was vile. It disappeared as soon as I moved back in.

I never got to the fair today :( I wasn't kind to myself about the amount of sleep I had last night, and I felt really sick this morning. Pottered locally - took that posh library book back, the one about copywriting - turns out it was published in the 1950s, completely irrelevant to copywriting today :rotfl: it read like it was published in the 19th century so *really* not going to be useful :D

Just been catching up right now - including checking how the little kindle book is doing after being top spot in the email advert - one copy sold, is the answer :rotfl: its very interesting to see :p

Cup of tea, check the slots offers (finally!) then another cup of tea in the garden :j

:kisses3: Hello all! thank you **beams happily**

Thank you for your concern :o I had a while out in the garden yesterday, which was lovely - then today I *did* get down to the south coast, had a walk along the sea front and saw a guy using a jetfoil on his back to sort of dance above the water - when those peeps throw a fair, they really throw a fair :D

Went to see a trendy installation about water, in spite of bad online reviews, its in an old wholesale market, and I used to work in rooms above the market, so I wanted to mooch about anyway ... bad online reviews were kind, let's say :rotfl: . Just deleted a whole essay :o so lets say, save me, please, from conceptual artists too holier-than-thou to explore their work verbally as well as visually (i.e. write down what the bleep is going on :D).

As ever, its saved by the Open Houses - local artists open their houses to tea and cake enthusiasts, while displaying their works - the skill, attention to detail and sheer artistry is inspiring

Popped in to a shop to discuss a future purchase, and found a real enthusiast - I felt bad about monopolising him (and the information was making my brain melt) so I started to pootle off, and he gave me next month's magazine to take away. Lovely guy, when I'm ready to purchase, I'll go there :j

And so pleased at Ed's news :A

I love art too. Now were in our forever home I'm keeping an eye out for pieces that I know I will look at and enjoy for years to come.

My dad always used to say that art is a sound investment............unless you get robbed! Lol

Hi Firegirl! Your dad had it right, I think :) Art for a forever home is a wonderful thing to be on the lookout for, thats lovely! I've looked at little woodcarvings in the past, or textiles I can hang on the walls - nowadays, it *has* to be items that I don't put on a surface :o and my sister collects modern low-number prints, which are really beautiful. Off to have a mooch at your posts, to see what you're doing :j

Got rain here, but I wanted to put some stuff through the w/m, so I've had to hang it up inside - as a compromise, I've got the windows on open on either side of it, and the rain's due to slacken off this afternoon, after a hooley.

    To-do list to come :D

  • Thanks for the mention of Ed's news, KC. Didn't realise what it was but have just had a pootle round the forum and discovered his diaries. I'll look forward to reading them right through when I have a bit more time but I know I'll enjoy them as he has a wonderful way with words. As you do yourself, KC.:T

I'm so happy for Mr, Mrs and Miss Ed:beer:

I love wall art too but our damp problem means I can't leave anything hanging in the same place for too long or slight wrinkling occurs

Just checked my main accounts I use all the time - current, easy access savings, and French current - English accounts are down by roughly the amount that I sent to France, though there's also a recent rent payment in the French money. Not too badly down, then.

Dishwasher's on. Off to check on elance now.
