Thanks Watty, its good to know the helpline folk really can be helpful.
The tea strainer - it sat in vinegar for about 36 hours, and I scrubbed it with wire wool ... if I've got any descaler, I'll give it a go, ta muchly.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Well I never. I *think* its sorted. The Manchester Call Centre won, over the Bootle Call Centre, which is sad for me, but good for my tax return, eventually
Turns out that income from renting out an apartment shouldn't be put under "income from land and property" in the Foreign Section. Much too easy. It should be put under "income from self employment and partnership". There! Common sense, of course
Income is definitely not double counted any more, so I'm going to log in yet again, and go through each page, check what I've written, and then I'm going to copy it again each year. The form isn't the same as the online pages, as those of you [STRIKE]cursed with doing[/STRIKE] who do this will know.
I had a walk around my local rec. ground in celebration :j2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Hooray! :j glad that's all sorted. Don't know why you didn't figure it out yourself... :rotfl: :rotfl: how ridiculous havig to put it under a completely different section!! who makes up these silly rules?!
Glad to hear you sounding more chipper though :j
I was going to say something else but can't remember and i'm on the bus so can't go back to the last page and look0 -
The body of the coffee filter is plastic, and the filter itself is gold - I don't think its 24 carat :rotfl: its plated or something. The tea strainer is stainless steel.
Can you see that the pores are blocked? Try running a lighter flame over them for a little while (don't melt the plastic) and then blow them through. If that works there may be a way forward.I've just discovered one of those 18cl bottles of red wine, half full still - I think I was saving it to put in a stew, something like that. Is it true that you can do that? Its months oldGoogling gives no conclusive answers (or maybe I'm just dazed and confused by my tax phone call) ...
You should be able to, if it was sealed. If it wasn't, it'll have turned into red-wine vinegar and should be treated appropriately. Examine and sniff first to make sure it hasn't gone mouldy."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

We would use it if it passed the sniff test, ie if the smell doesn't make you gag....!Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D0 -
Oh good! Its definitely vinegary, but not mouldy (eeeewwww!)
I'll keep the tea strainer and try the lighter flame ... not the coffee filter tho, I've had molten plastic around here accidentally before now, no way I'm doing it on purpose! That could be a great fix for the tea strainer tho.
First tea strainer I ever bought was at Harrods, for my first Interrail trip, and I really wanted to buy something at Harrods, but it had to be something useful, and cheap. Tea strainer fitted the bill :rotfl:2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Woo hoo!! Excellent news :beer::beer:Must use my stash up!0

Thanks both! Yes, a huge relief - I "print screened" each page to copy it, and made a pdf out of it, so now I know how to do it next year, pace any rule changes.
Decluttering:
7. Three old eyeshadows - I've still got 3, and I wear it once every couple of years, so I'm left with plenty :rotfl:
I've tried the lighter trick on the tea strainer ... I *think* its working :j2023: the year I get to buy a car0
