I'd love to send you some energy KC - but instead I'm going to sit under the table and hope I pick up some spare crumbs from you

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: loving it
Problem-of-my-own-making nicely resolved, and I haven't made myself ill again either :j:j:j
Taking it easy the rest of the day, though I'll do a bit of writing later on. Then tomorrow ... accounts. The quick version2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Afternoon all
I've actually started - very, very slowly- on the accounts. Income, utilities, telephone and office expenses, insurance and professional fees are done. Got to faff with office expenses a bit, and then do travel expenses, which is just coach fares to my business partner every now and then, and trains to committee meetings and CPD stuff, so that won't take long.
Weather here is more like spring! Bright sunshine alternating with deep, dark showers2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Sounds like a good productive day. It's good to get things done and out of the way:)Early retired - 18th December 2014
If your dreams don't scare you, they're not big enough0 -
It certainly is
I'd done more of the preparation work than I thought I had, I didn't do all that lot from start to finish yesterday
Today, its the French input to the accounts. I managed to do the rental income before I conked out, now its the mortgage, the invoices and the taxes. Then I fiddle about later on this month with those figures, because the French tax system goes from January to December, not April to March
Pootling about round here first, tho.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Morning KC,
belated Happy 2015 and all that shabazzle
Feel that it must be accounting weather today, I'm working on mine too - ugh !
Still, tis grey and gloomy here so I'm not missing out on any cheery sunshine or owt!
Hope your health keeps improving

:hello: Hello Lula! Oops, it was almost a day ago you posted! Hope you're doing good - my health *is* slowly improving, you're right
Its sunny here right now, with deep, deep frost all over the place.
I just heard a really unusual health story at first hand, from an acquaintance of mine: ten years of ill health, including really severe bouts of immobility, that looked like ME. Years of trekking to see specialists. Turns out it was internal poisoning, from the copper in an IUD :eek::eek: Its going to take another two years to get her body clear, but she's on the way. There was other trauma involved too, but the trigger was the IUD, which was in her body years past the recommended date... There's a lot of people suffering with ill-health, and sometimes the alternative community has teh answer. Not always, by a long shot, but sometimes its true.
Anyway, lots of French financial info logged - the thing that takes the time is figuring out how to get it into the tax form, and I've just cracked a major part of it - unless you're really careful, it double-counts the income, because holiday accommodation in France (which is what my flat is) is logged under both UK *and* European Union parts of the form. Don't ask me why ... and I've never been sure I've put the double tax thing in the right place either - but I've just found the worksheet (after all these years:rotfl:) and I printed it out this morning, so when I put my laptop downstairs in the warm, I might have a fiddle around
Otherwise, its about plotting a healthy routine to look after myself - my fit-as-a-fiddle business partner who still plays ordinary 5 a side football at the age of 67 has a routine that takes at least half an hour a day, as well as exercise. Turns out this sort of thing is like swans, as Yeats said: a swan looks beautifully serene, but under the water, its paddling like crazy, working really hard (erm, he put it better than that).
And genealogical plotting - census is next :j2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

. Aw..... now you've got me thinking of my favourite poem (or poyem as Ed, El, SS and I pronounce it
). Oops - just checked, yup, still makes me well up

:eek::eek: Indeed! Its going to take another two years to get her body clear, but she's on the way. There was other trauma involved too, but the trigger was the IUD, which was in her body years past the recommended date... There's a lot of people suffering with ill-health, and sometimes the alternative community has teh answer. Not always, by a long shot, but sometimes its true.
The main answer the alternative community has is "an open mind". It's not exclusive to the alternative health people, just as a closed mind is not exclusive to the conventional health people - but there is a preference.
I read a discussion a long time ago now which stated that the main reason medical schools *should* teach medical history is the same reason that they *don't* - it's so inglorious. Bloodletting, miasma, and even more recent events like Henry Cotton. A good dose of what went before and was "state of the art", how long it lasted and who defended it *may* help curb some of the arrogance.
It is one of the reasons that if you come across a good GP, stick to them like glue.Otherwise, its about plotting a healthy routine to look after myself - my fit-as-a-fiddle business partner who still plays ordinary 5 a side football at the age of 67 has a routine that takes at least half an hour a day, as well as exercise. If you look underneath a swan, you'll find a duck wearing a big silly hat..."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)
"We were born and raised in a summer haze." Adele 'Someone like you.'
