They were a pain to me for every age...Goldiegirl wrote: »I was in the same maths group as a set of mathematical geniuses (AKA The Briefcase Boys). The teacher was so delighted to have such interesting pupils, he focused on them, and us less talented kids used trail along in their wake.
Now I had a different experience. I was ignored for most of the time, with them focussing on the middle/lower ability people - except when I saved my Maths teacher's arsse with my exam results (only 3 people out of 120 got above 60%). Then he was all over me like a rash.
Which was disturbing. :eek:Yep! Thats it! I failed (grade 8!!!) but 18 months later passed with a Grade 5, I wanted to apply to St Andrews, and they needed a maths 0 Level, so I got onethe maths teacher I'd had for 4 years didn't remember my name
I got remembered. Even in the subjects I was crap at.
Probably for the wrong reasons - but there you go..."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

Probably for the wrong reasons - but there you go...I had some of that too, but never with the Maths teacher, I was just confused in Maths ... I was quite proud of the fact that I got a long detention (1 hr) because I got 3 short detentions (each 30 mins) in a fortnight
Very, very norty.
I've no idea why I'm still up, thats a bit dumb of me, I'm orf to bed. Night night all :hello:2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
I went to my little local sub post office yesterday, to post off the ebay sales. I was paid £9.90, £5.62 left after postage, I'll be interested to see how much the ebay charges are. I might not continue selling the magazines - they're lovely quality, but my net is somewhere around £1 - for finding it, writing out the description, checking the sales, printing out a sales slip, finding an envelope and writing it out, going to the PO ... thats a lot of stuff stored ready to use, and a lot of time that could be used for writing. Hmm.
My sister came round briefly today to vacuum my stairs, she didn't want me doing it :kisses3: I'm going to be working tomorrow, just one session.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

I've just commented on Roaring Twenties thread about eBay fees - they are very high.
For low price items, once eBay and PayPal have had their cut, it only leaves pence.

I did have to do my tricky morning phone call today, so thats a big tick on the list. I'm aiming to do my 6pm session, so the only plans before then are to have a shower, and relax2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Aha! Email from the firm that manages the holiday lettings at my apartment - they *are* going to carry on managing, so I'll continue to get *some* money. 20% less, and there was already that shortfall of £2-£4k per annum, but some is much better than nothing at all. I think there's another tax bill next month, so I'll still have to send money soon, but not nearly as bad as I feared.
Been doing some CPD work this afternoon, of necessity, and have rediscovered a lovely writer in my counselling/therapy specialty, illuminating exactly the point I was struggling with. I emailed him my thanks on the fly, and he replied within ten minutes or so!
Canadian again :j I do love that country :T
