I've got to bring some more proportion to this ... I've been reading about the murders in Paris today, and although the gunmen are still at large, there are rallies going to be held later on *today* ... I think thats incredibly brave.

Ug, neighbours kept me awake till 1.30 chatting, playing music, and something like banging chests of drawers, or pulling plugs out ... bit zombified today :(

However, I *have* gone on to my French bank account online, and paid my quarterly management fee, and now I've set up their equivalent of a DD,

it was really easy. Plus, because I sent that account the leftover spreadbetting euros, I don't need to send any money to cover this month's mortgage payment.

If I can't make it work by retiring early *this* year, I'd rather live in an RV permanently than live like this. I could get a loo, a shower, a microwave, a halogen oven and a table top dishwasher in an RV ...

Don't get a dishwasher - it'll be more trouble that it's worth. It'll take a number of gallons of water per cycle, and guess who'll be hauling that? If you CBA washing up, use paper plates.

folding bike strapped to the outside,

Get a moped at least - trust me on this. Or even something like this: http://www.armitagetrailers.com/Aframes.htm

I'd live in my sister's field in France (well, not for long, its 45 mins walk even to the nearest village, but its a perfectly sound option).

The purpose of an RV is to tour...

Not especially - it's a bit too short a notice period for anyone to plant bombs along the route, and turning up with assault rifles isn't going to last long.

The politics in France is going to get interesting for a while, especially given that Mme Le Penn's star was already rising. Holland may also be one to watch for various reasons.

I once knew met an American woman who rented out her house and decided to travel the states in her RV with dog. It sounded rather lovely. The rent covered her meagre living expenses and she did the odd bit of counselling over the internet/Skype for "extras"

Just saying! Its a doable plan :)
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!
  • Oh yes, Jacob on ere lives in a TV, but it is in California.....
Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D

I could go with a moped, absolutely :) and thanks for :grouphug:

Z, I do think they're brave to go out today - not for bombs, you're right, but these guys had machine guns or the equivalent, I've seen some of the videos on The Guardian, horrendous :(

Watty and SSS, how interesting! It certainly seems possible on American roads :) and exactly, some online work of one sort or another would pay the bills ... we'll see.

Feeling quite a bit better, going to have something to eat now. Thanks for posting, all of you :kisses3:

Glad you're feeling a little better, sometimes it helps just to write it all down, then it's out of your head, if you know what I mean:)

I'm sure you can do all sorts over the internet for "extras" - including "extras" :D.

Living in a TV? Crikey, that is extreme :rotfl:.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

    "Extras" :D:D:D

    :o

    Erm ... what's a quant?

Goldie, you're right, getting it out is best :) And yep, feeling a little bit better again: stepped outside the back door to breathe the fresh air, and a ginger cat greeted me, and didn't run away, this is an achievement :p

I feel a lot better as long as I'm doing what's right for me :)

Spoke with a doc - not the one I saw before - "you're fine", unquote. Bleeping hell! Thats what I mean when I say the first one was intelligent, sigh ... I'll make an appointment with her.

Been mooching about the interweb looking at post viral fatigue and ended up at a few brain retraining websites ... two seem to have had CFS and recovered from it, and do DVDs and coaching. I'm very familiar with the short term stuff on this, but this is longer, and more focussed. I'll take what's on offer free from the NHS, but I'll keep on researching this stuff. Probiotics too.

Also came across Joseph LeDoux at New York University, huge amount of brain research. Plus:
    - there were several steps I mentioned to Pippi that I do every day. Erm, I don't - so I must! Including supplements, deep breathing, the reiki prayer, that sort of thing.
    - there are a couple of things that I don't *have* to do, which stress me out, that I can stop. I'm going to stop them.

Mm, not done anything financial today. Don't really care :D tho I probably will when my self assessment form is due to have been submitted :rotfl:
