Fly info here Karma - nothing to worry about. We get the same thing every year. They're just looking for a cosy place to spend the Winter.

though the other two, I managed to open the windows and let them fly away.
That might well be quite difficult :rotfl:Would love to winter out of the cold ...but not sure I could fit two horses and a large dog on hotel balcony
Thanks Watty - it changes each day and am/pm, to be honest, no rhyme or reason to it - I've no idea how I'm going to commit to working with clients at any one time, its a nightmare. I might be well, I might not. Been trying to speak to my business partner, but he's gadding about today, I'll try a bit later, but it will probably have to be tomorrow now.Hope you are feeling much brighter today KC2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Didn't mean to describe you as an 'older' person:o. This quote was from an earlier post by Goldiegirl about cruises in general.
.
My definition of an older person has always been somebody 20 years older than me, so I was thinking about people in their mid-70's!
KC isn't old by my definition!Early retired - 18th December 2014

I knew that

I've been having an energetic moment (i.e., I can sit at the computer for an hour) so some plotting with my sister has been bearing fruit.
Her late husband's grandfather was a Canadian **KC waves at RT** who fought in WWI, and was captured in April 1915 - they'd always planned to go visit the area on the anniversary, so thats what I shall be doing with her, instead of him. Its also around the anniversary of her husband's death, so its a bit tough, but we're working through that, and instead I've been looking at links to various roads and POW camps that we know he lived at. Fascinating.
We've also got another celebration of her husband's life coming up; when he died, there was talk of a memorial prize, and although there was a celebration in his name 18 months after he died, it all seemed to come to nothing. Now we know its actually happening - his firm have contacted my sister, she's picked a designer for the memorial prize, and the designer has submitted a few designs that have been given to her by the company for her approval. The first one will be in late spring this year. Its really quite something.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Oh, that sounds like some lovely family plotting there KC!

We had a dozy fly on the bed the other day. Tried to stick it at the end of the bed to die in peave and comfort but the darn thing kept buzzing at the skylight - let it out eventually to die in the snow...0 -
(obviously that's PEACE, not peave...)

Both things are lovely things, an enduring memory of her late husband, and paying respects to his grandfather.
Family history is so interesting. I did a lot of work on my family history a few years back, but I have stopped for a while. I expect I will start again at some point. My dad's 100th birthday would have been in May 1918, and I'd particularly like to go to the town he was born at that time. He left around 1935 to go to London for work, and to my knowledge never went back. But there is a long family history in that town - back to about 1730, as far as I've been able to trace.
Hope you are feeling ok todayEarly retired - 18th December 2014
