Would you change a flat tyre on a motorway hard shoulder?

I just wanted to be doubly sure that you were indeed the AE of Captain Flack who was PPRd on here couple of weeks ago.Rodney_Trotter wrote: »So why be a !!!!!! about it? You could have posted that first time.
Your certainty, even when wrong; your cocky short answers that are questions rather than answers, your short fuse and irritable tone have convinced me. I think others were convinced some time ago.Make everything as simple as possible, but not simpler.0 -

It all depends upon the circumstances at the time.
If its a quiete motorway, not in rush hour of course I'd change it - either side.
It helps to have someone else using their eyes and ready to drag you away.
If its a busy motorway (and I would only go on one of those if I'm travelling for work and then likely in a hire or company car) then I wait for the emergency breakdown service that comes with the car.
As I rarely travel on busy motorways then I have no need of a breakdown service.0 -
I've not been on a motorway in over a year but if I was a regular user I'd make sure I had good breakdown cover. Just getting towed off by the Highways Agency costs a few hundred pounds I hear.0

I didn't know the highways agency would tow you.
I suspose they have to, otherwise if people didnt have the cash for a recovery company the motorway would be littered with abandoned cars.0 -

Yes they tow you off and charge you later. They only tow you off at the next junction. You'll still have to organise recovery from there. So effectively paying twice.0 -

No idea probably their recovery agent.

I don't even know how to open the bonnet of my 5 year old 9000 mile fiat, so no I would not and could not change a tyre.0
