Nowhere does it say that they're not affiliated to the official Passport Office
Was looking for that one and could no find it. These rogues are everywhere.

    @Keith-66

I suggest you read post #621 - it's at the top of this page.

That mentions a case where someone raised a dispute for a charge in similar circumstances, was refunded but then the Bank took back the money as they said the company had acted legitimately.

Your first step should be to check if the website you used (there are lots of different companies) has a refund clause.

    If so, follow that.

Some companies do give refunds (minus and admin fee of around £8) but you usually have to contact them via a specific email address.

You may also wish to read my post #622 where there is a quote from another member of MSE who was told by his bank that 'it was his fault' and also an extract from a Daily Mail article where a woman said her bank 'refused to help'.

I don't think there is any need for anyone to do that - legitimate posters in other threads as well as an article in a daily newspaper have already shown how incorrect hpuse's advice is.

And anyway, what ever the outcome of keith-66's attempt to get a refund from his bank is, he's a "one post wonder", so it is irrelevant.

Please do make sure you submit the following without fail to the bank/credit card company.

    a) your initial correspondences; i.e letter, email etc requesting refund
    b) responses received from the copycat website company; if you did not receive any responses, state that clearly in writing or on the phone to the bank.

Please do remember to post back how it went here. It shouldnt take no more than 10-14 days.

No problemo, we can hardly draw breath in here with the exceptation of the AE coming back to reveal all.

    You forgot this bit:

"Please also be aware that if your bank do erroneously grant a chargeback they will reverse that decision when the processing company you used give evidence to the bank that they were not trading illegally."

Once again, you can't pick and choose which parts you want to use for your 'advice'.

It's getting quite boring having to continually correct you. I'm surprised MSE haven't pulled this thread due to all the inaccuracies you have posted.

Abbreviations of Perceptions, would someone care to explain what "exceptation of the AE coming back to reveal all" means ?

I would have thought you of ALL people would be able to understand that.

Or maybe because it was a typo rather than deliberate gibberish you're not able to compute? :D
