Now, I can assume again, correctly, that OP still has not got his refund for the servcie he requested and is lost on the haze of DSRs and Charge backs. As has been suggested, the OP should concentrate his efforts into advising us on how to avoid these websites, instead of their vent on losing their money.

So consumers may lose money ? After losing money, they will learn to avoid using this website. This theory is applicable to 60 million passports applicants of UK !!

Logically, what do you think came first BoP, a seller or a buyer ?
To put this into context, a passport "applicant" or "application" itself??

Irrespective of where it came from, (it's the wording from the guidance to The Consumer Protection from Unfair Trading Regulations) it still doesn't explain why the majority of the websites in question are still trading freely and have not been prosecuted or shut down if they are guilty of breaking the regulations.

Maybe no action has been taken for the simple reason that unlike hpuse, neither the OFT nor trading Standards think that the reg's have actually been breeched.

    Here is it for you:
The Government will continue to take action against websites that misrepresent their relationship with government and misuse government logos.

These copycats are misleading. My view is that almost no one would use these sites if they knew what they were doing.

See again you make facts and figures up. The population of the uk is approx 63 million, of those 63 million not all are british nationals so will not be applying via these sites. Coupled with those that go to a passport office or post office to process it and those that dont fall for these application services websites, your 60 million is way way off.

I quite agree with you that people would not use these websites if they realised what they were signing up to.

But 'misrepresenting their relationship with Government' and 'misusing Government logos' is NOT the same as 'misleading the public'.

Last year I renewed my passport online.

Managed to do it through the .gov site though.

Another question for you hpuse. Why do you choose to ignore questions directly put to you?

Sorry, but I'm sat here having a really good chuckle.

Post #468 from Yampybird, explaining that he has been 'conned by PassportsDirect'

First post of the day from hpuse was #471 - so he must have seen the one from Yampybird.

hpuse doesn't even acknowledge the poor guy's post, let alone offer to help him!

Please - will someone tell me (I know hpuse won't ;)) what the point of this thread is?

Further, 5.4 million applications were processed in 2012-13. That is less than 60 million you suggest, appox <10% of the UK population.

There are no figures for those who requested a Passport Checking service, though on my Bing Serach just now, the passport office came out top. Not only that, the passport Checking Service was clearly shown as an advert. Just like the days of the newspaper, where the word, Advertisment accompanied some articles.

    Not at all misleading.

There is no point to this thread.

The original poster is just a troll.
