I need help, last moth my mother in law needed to apply for a passport, she asked me to find details in the internet and I put her details into a copy cat website, when I was about to pay the page close down (I havent paid) and a realised that it was not the real website. Now this company is asking my mother in law money for the services, the said they are going to take her to the small claim court. they got all her details but is my IP address and a fake signature done for me (i know this ilegall) . Mi mother is very scared, my question is she should paid or not.

Which website was it? There is more than one.

You say it was a month ago.
Did this company do what they said they would do? i.e have they provided you with a 'service'?

Was there any refund policy shown on the website?

What communication have you had from this company?
It sounds strange that they've just got in touch with your M-I-L (through you) and are immediately threatening legal action.

Following category of copycats website advertisement are removed so far from Google.

    - passport services
    - driving license services
    - London congestion charging

Oh by the way, if you are like BoP, Pollycat etc those who jump in joy seeing a copycat website link in google search - please do not think them as adverts.

I would rather suggest a crash course in Google search fun-de-mentals..:rotfl:

Irony is, pollycat will be waking up early in the morning tomorrow to type a reply to this ....hahaha, love it !

You have totally ignored the post from annas1974 asking for help.
Instead you have been grandstanding and trying to score cheap points.

Regardless of your protestations to the contrary, you have no interest at all in helping people out.

You should be ashamed of yourself.

We can then check to see if it's a 'genuine' website or not. We can also check the T and Cs, many websites will say the contract is formed upon taking payment.

Have you received any services from the website?

Anna, I think you will be absolutely fine. Its no different from me going to Tescos website, filling up my basket and then changing my mind and closing the web page down before payment.

For info, annas1974 has just sent me 2 pms.
In the interest of trying to help her, I'm sure she wouldn't mind me sharing the information on here:
They are telling my mother in law that she has to pay because she signed the contract. She did not signed, I am the one who signed.
The only got a fake signature and my IP address. She is going to tell them that she does not know anything about this appointment.
The director of the company has been fined twice, one for 1000 pound and a second time for not paying the 1000 pounds.
The address in the website is a mail box and the address of the director is fake as well.
The company is passport services worldwide limited. But this company has a lot of website.

The company he was fined is phonenumber4Ulimited.
I can't see any website called 'passport services worldwide' using Google.

Annas1974 - please provide the exact website address.

You say "they only got a fake signature and an IP address".
Didn't you have to give your M-I-L's address so they could send the 'checked' forms to her for signature?

I am scared to put the website but I will send a private message. I read somewhere that a contract is not " realised" until the payment has been received. This person is telling me that My mother in law is going to send bailiffs and she is going to get bankrupt.
I don't know now how this companies are " legal", in my country you go to the police to get your passport or ID renew.

Nothing in that link with regard removal of service providers.

Where is this team of engineers hpuseless?

Hahaha, BoP, sometimes greatest knowledge and wisdom arises from ignorance!
FYI, Google search engine indexes websites, not service providers...:rotfl:

This thread really stresses the need of education....

They are scummers. (Scamming scum). There will NOT be any bailiffs - they are simply trying to put the frighteners on. Once they realise you won't be fooled they'll quietly go away and try the find another victim. If you (she) get any threatening letters, contact the police.
