Yesterday was a NSD :) and I'm hoping today will be as well. I'm going to try and aim for NSDs until Tuesday. It should be fairly easy, Fri-Mon I'm working double shifts so not much opportunity to spend and we have heaps of food in the flat.

I've worked out that I need just over £100 for the rest of the direct debits before the end of the month. I'm £58 short so that will have to come out of my pay tomorrow. I think my pay will be around £80 but I can't check my payslip as my laptop is dead, I just can't get it to charge at all. So that only leaves £20ish for next week.

I'm actually just looking forward to August being over. I feel like it's been a bad month - I've hardly made any overpayments to the debt, I've left myself short of money, OH is barely working. I also feel unwell (which explains the lack of positivity/down mood) but I cannot afford to take any time off work.

Right must think of something positive things to end this post on - I've caught up with a lot of family and friends this month, the sun is shining today and we got some new DVDs through from Lovef!lm to watch.

Achieved my NSD today. I've got all my food organised for tomorrow so have no excuse for buying anything.

I meant to pop into the library on the way home to use a computer and find out how much I'm getting paid tomorrow but ended up finishing work late. Oh well I'll find out when I wake up.

Sorry it hasn't been a great month for you. How frustrating for your OH having his overtime cancelled as well. I have found it a tricky month as everywhere you look it's supposed to be all about taking time out in one way or another and like you that hasn't been the case for me either. Just have to keep our heads down and think how good debt freedom will eventually be.

Thanks for your post Bob, sorry to hear your month has been tricky. Here's to a better September for us both :D

I'm feeling a bit better than I was a few days ago, both physically and mentally. OH is really down at the moment and being very negative about everything which doesn't help my positivity, however, we'll muddle on through like always.

So I got paid £82.06 yesterday and have £24.66 left after the direct debits are paid. We still have plenty of food left so hopefully will only need to get fruit, bread, milk, etc. I've got a few social things planned for the week but will reschedule or think of ways to make them cheaper.

    Hi misstara

I was just wondering how you're laptop is doing? Are you managing to charge it? Mine has started to tell me there's something wrong with the fan and I need to get it repaired. I'm dreading that, I have no idea how much laptop repairs cost.

    Glad you're feeling a bit better. :)

Hi ani, my laptop is still dead. I managed to get it to charge for a few seconds the other day but that's it. Usually after I wiggle the cable about a lot, it starts charging although sometimes I have to hold the charger in. This time though I might actually have to get someone to look at it but like you I'm worried about how much its going to cost. From some research on the internet, it looks like it should cost between £50 and £100.

Got home from work last night to find my payslip from monthly job so will get £1020.71 on Friday. I'll put £1000 into the direct debits account, pay £15 to BT cc and pay £5.71 to cc2. I've decided that I'd like to start putting £1200 a month into the direct debits account which covers the rent increase and means I can hopefully start building up a buffer in that account. Some months I'll be able to put this aside from monthly pay but other months I'll need to add to it during the month. So next month I need to find £200 extra to put in this account.

Achieved a NSD yesterday but not Sunday as we needed milk and rolls, £3 spent. Today won't be a NSD as I'm heading down to Aldee to get a shop. Despite spending heaps last week, we still seem to need quite a lot.

I was supposed to be going out for lunch today with a friend but I'm now going to pop round to hers in the afternoon instead. Thought I'd make some scones to take round. I also need to make some more bread as there's very little left in the freezer.

I'm now off work until Saturday so I've made up a wee list of things that I want to get done in that time.
    - clean windows
    - do a cupboard/freezer inventory
    - do some knitting or sewing
    - start thinking about gifts I can make for Christmas
    - tidy up my desk

Ended up spending £25.70 on shopping yesterday but OH put £10 towards it so not too bad. I've got £1.30 left in my purse and £4.66 in the bank. I think I'll transfer the £4.66 over to cc2 tomorrow.

Today has been a NSD. Me and OH went up the coast a bit and had a lovely walk along the beach. OH treated us to some icecreams :D. We've agreed to put £20 in each to have a day out on Friday, thinking a charity shop rummage and lunch out.

Will get £115.03 from 2nd job on Friday
    - £25 cc2
    - £30 food
    - £10 electricity bill
    - £10 sponsorship for a friend
    - £10 bus fare
    - £20 day out on Friday
    - £10 direct debits account

I was supposed to be out for tea tomorrow but have invited my friend round to the flat instead and will cook something. I'm also seeing my gran tomorrow.

My hoover is not picking up properly at the moment, will need to take it apart and see if there is something stuck. Hopefully it's something easily fixable.

Bread, scones and flapjacks made and I've also cleaned the windows, done the cupboard/freezer inventory and made a list of things that we are running short off.

I paid over the £4.66 to cc2 this morning which takes me to 53.2% paid. I'll pay £40 over tomorrow and that will be the last of the debt payments for August.

Not a huge amount planned for today, just meeting my gran for a coffee and then seeing my friend tonight. I'll give the flat a proper clean today plus get a couple more jobs ticked off my list.
