Another NSD here - it's a miserable day here and I'm not planning on leaving the flat until it's time to go to work.

Made my payment to cc2 which takes me to 50% paid off :D and I've transferred the money to the emergency fund.

I've only budgeted £20 for food this week to try and keep under the monthly budget so currently working on a cheap meal plan.

Delurking to say CONGRATS! and VERY WELL DONE !! You must be so proud of yourself :-)

and thanks, to you and the others on here. We are both retired now, no mortgage, a fair chunk of money in the banks but you all inspired me to actually 'think' about what we spend. We still spend, but I now do the cashback, price comparison, switching things which means we get what we want but spend less.

and I also started (as an experiment) to do surveys and Swagbucks. I wanted a new iPhone. It cost £539, and I bought it direct from Apple, reduced my mobile monthly bill from £34 to £8 and, in just over 4 months have 'earned' £326.38 from surveys etc and cashback and 'saved' £104 on the mobile bills.
By the end of August I will have a 'free' iPhone and will probably stop the surveys (I'm starting to get bored) and just enjoy the saving on the mobile bill :-)

back to lurking and cheering quietly on the sidelines.

Thanks Boodedoo - I'm so happy to have made it to 50% and just want to get rid of the next 50% as soon as possible! One day I look forward to being like you - owning a house and with some savings - putting all that I've learned from MSE in practice will help me get there (eventually I hope :)) Well done on using surveys to get your new phone.

So today has been quite a spendy day - £18.15 on groceries, £14.39 on toiletries and £46.70 on presents. I had a 20% off code for an online shop that I sometimes buy presents from so thought I'd use it to stock up. I now have most presents for July, August and September birthdays. I borrowed the money to pay for them from the electricity fund so I will need to replace the money on Friday.

It was a beautiful day here and on my day off as well :) I spent a couple of hours sitting in the park enjoying the sunshine with a book. I also went to a kettlebells class and signed up for next week too as I'm really enjoying it and it fits in with the shifts I do.

I was supposed to be going out for tea tonight but it was rearranged for next week as one of the girls was ill. I'll just keep the money that I had budgeted already for next week. I spent £1.90 on milk and mushrooms - hoping the next couple of days will be NSDs.

I've spent a bit of time this evening baking so have made bread, rolls, flapjack and scones. All turned out well although the rolls are teeny tiny. Must remember to buy more bread flour next time I'm shopping.

I know - something just seems to have clicked this month and I'm really enjoying going whereas for a while I was struggling and just making myself go so that I wasn't paying for it and not using it. I might actually make my 12/12 target this month for the first time ever ;)
