Hmm I think it has taken something like 8 months to reach the 40.00 mark. The surveys are very short, usually just 2 or 3 minutes so it only pays 10p or 20p at a time, however, you eventually get there and its nice to get 40.00 in one go.FinanciallyUnsavvy wrote: »Totally jealous of your ability to get up early to go to the gym. Never in a million years would I manage to do that - as much as I'd like to be a morning person, it's never going to happen! :P
To be honest, its more because if I roll out of bed and just go, then that's it. If I plan to go later on in the day, I usually don't (unless I'm meeting my friend) because I have plenty of time to talk myself out of going and think of better things I could be doing like vegging on the sofa :rotfl:Steerpike88 wrote: »Have you thought about going to a beauty school to get your hair cut? I hadn't thought of this but had a quick look online at the local college's prices and it appears to be 6.00 for a haircut. Amazing, it usually costs me 30.00 so I have noted down the number and will be giving them a call tomorrow. Thanks Steerpike!
I think I will also factor in some money for a 'fancy' tea each month although maybe this should just come out of our 'date nights' budget.
Speaking of which, we have been looking at films coming out soon to use the clubcard reward cinema voucher and think we have decided on captain america when it comes out at the end of the month.
OH brought home a whole heap of leaflets today of things to do in the local area so we are planning to have a look through and see if there's anything good.
Only spend for today was 2.10 on bus fare home from work. Tomorrow I've got my girls night out, have budgeted 25.00 and my plan is to only take that in my purse and leave my debit card at home so I can't overspend.Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.8.25 - £106,362.86

Morning MissTara,
Sounds like all is going well on your diary.
I have sometimes used the local college to get my hair done, its not bad at all. There is always a supervisor hovering around so no chance of total disasters. Just allow abit longer than you normally would and take a good book because they sometimes can be quite slow. Well worth it for the price though.
Great idea about only taking your £25 and no debit card on your girls night out. Just make sure you have your ride home sorted out as you don't want to end up stranded and no available money to use to get home.
Keep going hun xxxx0 -
Thanks for your post Steph. Need to phone the college to make an appointment as didn't get round to it yesterday. I will remember to take a book - thanks for the tip.
Thankfully I live very close to town so I always walk home after a night out. Saves me standing for ages at the taxi rank.
I came home with £3.40 out of my £25 budget so pleased with that. Other spends for yesterday are £2.10 on the bus home from work and £1.60 on milk.Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.8.25 - £106,362.86

Seems to have been quite a spendy day
2.10 on bus fare to get to work (I was being lazy this morning)
2.79 on juice and crisps (to combat my slight hangover)
30.95 in B*ots
3.50 toilet roll
Was very pleased with my things from B*ots as I ended up getting 10.28 worth of points for buying things that I actually needed.
Was paid today from weekly job. I have moved 10.00 to electricity fund and 10.00 to wedding/hen weekend fund. I have made a 6.72 payment to cc1.
I have budgeted 20.00 for a meal out next week with a friend who I have not seen for a few years as she has been travelling. This leaves me around 35.00 for the rest of week. Should be very doable as there is plenty of food in the house and the only thing I really need to pay for is my haircut which is booked for Wednesday.Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.8.25 - £106,362.86

I was working for 2nd job today, a long shift but it went quick enough. Got home in time to catch the 2nd half of the rugby, however, we lost
Today would have been a NSD except on the way home from work I decided I must have chocolate digestives so 1.00 spent. Am really struggling to get any NSDs at the moment.
Tomorrow won't be one either as we need fruit. Also think the plan for tomorrow's tea is chicken fajitas, I have most of the ingredients but will need sour cream and possibly more tortillas. I know I have an opened pack in the freezer but not sure how many are left.
Working a long shift again tomorrow for 2nd job, can't really be bothered with it but I should get around 150.00 on Friday for the two shifts so it's worth it.
Have spent my evening catching up with washing, ironing and doing surveys. Yep it's an exciting Saturday nighthowever I did finally make the payout for Global Test Market so that's 30.00 winging its way to me. It will now take me probably about 6 months to get payouts from any survey places now as I'm right back down at the beginning.
I think once I get the money from that and OnePoll I will put 25.00 into christmas savings, put 20.00 towards wedding/hen expenses and 25.00 to make a payment to cc1.Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.8.25 - £106,362.86

Not much to report today - a quick day again at work. Spent 8.02 in the shop on the way home. I ended up needing more ingredients for the fajitas than originally thought but they were super yummy! I also got a couple of reduced items from the bakery section which I have popped into the freezer. However, I completely forgot to buy fruit so will have to do that tomorrow.
Plan for the rest of the evening is to paint my nails and then get an early night as I feel really tired again. I don't start work until later on tomorrow but said to my gran I would pop round and see her in the morning so will still need to get up fairly early.Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.8.25 - £106,362.86

£4.59 spent on fruit and bread this morning, shouldn't have any other spends today hopefully. I feel like I'm struggling a wee bit at the moment with my daily spending. I need to organise myself better and achieve some NSDs.
I got a nice surprise in the post today - a wee makeup bag with a nail varnish, eye shadow, eye pencil and lip gloss. It was free through a membership to something I'd signed up for but then cancelled before the trial period ended. It was so long now that I'd completely forgotten about it so really pleased with it.Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.8.25 - £106,362.86

After saying on Monday that I had to be more organised with my daily spending, I did not take lunch to work yesterday and bought from the local shop
it was only 1.05 but still. I also spent 1.19 on some tortilla chips so we could have nachos for tea last night using up the leftover salsa and sour cream from the fajitas.
I can feel myself slightly falling back into my old ways of going to the shop every day just for a couple items and spending more than I need. I am off work for the next few days so will use this time to get myself organised.
My plan is to make soup either today or tomorrow which I can then freeze and take out when I need it for lunches. I have plenty of rolls in the freezer already which I got from the reduced bakery section.
Today will be a spendy day as I have my haircut this morning and meal out with my friend tonight. I will also go to the supermarket to get a few things that we need, I'm just in the process of drinking the last of the coffee and I'm not a pretty sight without it :rotfl: Hopefully I will then be able to achieve a NSD tomorrow.
I went to the gym with my friend yesterday and we have decided to sign ourselves up for a 10k obstacle race later on in the year to keep us motivated and have something to work towards. It costs around 50.00 to sign up for though so will have to put some money aside towards this.
This morning the loan repayment has gone out and I have made a 2.27 payment to cc1. I'll wait to update my signature until the months interest has been added on to the loan and cc1.Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.8.25 - £106,362.86

Hmm my few things in the supermarket turned into a 22.97 spend, however, am now well stocked up and should not need to spend anything else on food until well after the weekend. It also included getting my fave washing powder as it was on special offer.
My haircut cost 8.00 and looks fab, it has had about 3 inches cut off and is now in a chin length bob. I would definitely go back to the college to get my hair done again.
I have had to borrow some money from the electricity fund to cover my tea out tonight as I have totally gone over my budget for the week but will replace this on Friday once I get paid.Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.8.25 - £106,362.86

Don't give up!
Sometimes it feels futile saving when your money is just eeked out somewhere else. Sometimes my friends and I would go out for a meal, but I'd bring an extra sandwich or some pasta from home to work and eat it just before going out. So I could just order some soup, or a baked potato, or something.
Used to save myself a fortune, and still go out with my friends and not have to mention that I was broke.
Glad the hair cut went well, hope it didn't take too long!Debts: ASDA Loan - £6,848.01
