I have just called the hospital and it appears that my neighbour 'paul' is in ITU, so ALIVE at least. They will be sorting out a clot on the heart... I just pray he pulls thorugh.

    Morning all

<<Crazychick>> Sorry to hear about your esFIL. It's been a long time coming, and at least he's not suffering any more.
    <N9eav>Well done you!
Jocket Great to hear about your adventures, shame about OH aversion to taking off and landing.
<Taplady>Fingers crossed that the flood doesn't get into your mum's house, or any nearer than you.
<OopsaDaisy>Do you take any sort of probiotic (Actimel, Yakult, or Kefir etc?) Reason for asking is that I started taking this some years ago. After a few months I didn't think it was doing me any good and I stopped, didn't think anything of it. A couple of weeks later I was moaning about my mood swings, and the girl who sat opposite me asked me if I had stopped drinking them. I didn't think it was related, but I restarted, and my mood swings improved. Over the years I have stopped from time to time, and the result is always the same. I don't feel appreciably better when I'm using them, but I do feel the difference when I'm not, IYSWIM.
    lka welcome to the thread
hypno think I'll join you ih the 15 minute bursts. I want to do some deep cleaning today.

Very tired this morning, had trouble getting out of bed. Am up, breakfasted, WM on, DW emptied, and then spent the last 30 mons reading this thread.

Plans for today: go to the gym in a mo, then get started on some deep cleaning of the living room. I'd like to do the hall, stairs and landing as well, but I'll see how it goes.

Lunch today will be baked kumara. Dinner will be Kashmiri Chicken curry for DH (extra portion frozen from when we had it a couple of weeks ago), and hm watercress soup for me. I'm getting weighed and measured on Thursday, so no alcohol until then, and am effectively dieting. My period started on Sunday though, so that'll probably mess up my weight. Never mind!

Right, got to get a move on.

    Catch up later xxxxx Hazel

That always works in my favour, dannahaz - I put on half a stone when premenstrual and it all drops off once I come on (so it must be water retention rather than PMT-driven choccie binging :D)

Hi all; just popping back in with a coffee.
    lka200 - Welcome - I just know you'll like it here!
    CRAZYCHIK - thinking of you.

Well, it's still NOT raining - yet. Washing is blowing nicely on the line which is good but means the ironing pile will expand! BM is on and smells lovely. I don't buy shop bread any more - it's just not the same! I had to nip out to post a parcel and found that there is a new book shop in my village and all the books are half-price. It's a lovely shop and will be very hard to resist whenever I go shopping. I bought a couple of activity books for the grandchildren but could have bought many more! I hope the shop is successful because we keep losing the local ones. A charity shop closed down last week and we lost our brilliant hardware store last year - I really miss is because it sold everything in the old-fashioned way and you could find things there that B&Q didn't bother stocking so it was very useful. We also lost out weigh-and-pay shop and I miss that, too, especially now that I'm baking so much more and cooking everything from scratch.
Anyway, I hope no one has any rain today - we've all had enough.
Must go - will call in later.

N9eav - Well done you - hope your neighbour gets well soon.

    Hugs to those in need.

Thanks for all the birthday wishes for yesterday - had a lovely day, got to 5pm and felt a bit queasy and spent the rest of the evening dashing for the loo - just what you need on your birthday - good job we didn't go out for dinner - what a waste of money that would have been!

I dare not put the washing out today - it keeps coming over so dark and ominous looking.....TD has been fired up as the washing is just not going to dry indoors with no heat.

Front and back gardens are in dire need of cutting back and lawn mowing but it's all still sodden from yesterday - why is it that when ever I have the time to go and cut it - it's raining or soggy?

Still have DD2 home, did half an hours maths work with her this morning but she's gone back to bed bless her - will do some craft this afternoon and see if that will tempt her to get up for a while.

Got some chicken that needs using up so will make a pastryless pie (chicken and veg in gravy topped with mash), should be enough to make a soup with too along with the stock.

Hope you all have a great afternoon.

OMG...Taplady i have just read your post, you must be beside yourself... hope that your mums will be ok and that your son gets back home soon, i think that they are forecasting more rain this week, get everything upstairs that is of any sentimental value as they cant be replaced by any amount of money. can you believe that i didnt watch any of the news yesterday, so i was unaware of all the flooding ! also worth making sure that you and your mum haveing torches, ect to hand... big hugs to you both x x x x

has anyone heard from Moggins ? is she ok ?

i have a coconut rice pudding cooking for one of my ladies, gonna pop it round to her later.

just about to put second lot of washing on the line, dont know where the sun keeps going, but it should dry as its breezy out there.
done the downstairs, now need to tackle the bedrooms and bathroom !!!!!!
if i finish in time .. then im going to give myself a treat and watch a slushy, soppy, need a hankie film before dd gets back from school, not sure wich one yet Oooooooh and i still have a few choccies left from my bday !!!!! i think i will take the phone of the hook as well !!!!!

    Hi everyone
Taplady I'm glad you and your mum are o.k and keeping safe
N9eav glad your neighbour is getting the attention he needs

I'm a bit cross I went to the bank today to make sure all the bills were paid and the money was in the right accounts (shopping,dd's
ect) came home and checked on-line and they've lost a substantial ammount I phoned and was told it's in a holding account as something was done wrong so after I've dropped ds1 at college I've got to go back and get it sorted so the time that I was going to use seeing my step-dad I 've now got to do that
    off for lunch now
    see you later
    pam xx
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was going to blame you

Its taken me the last 2 hours to read this and finally get round to posting!! Work work work!

Hope everyone is well, best wishes to those that need it today and heres something a little stronger if you need that  .

Work today, not flooded and seems quite dry at the moment. Most people have made it in, a few delayed on the trains etc. Heard more rain is to come, I am quite glad my house is on a bit of a hill! Keep thinking I am going to come home to a shed full of rain and my 3 bunnies floating around in it! Bless my little on that lives inside, all warm, dry and not a care in the world.

1 more day at work until holiday time, well I have Thurs & Fri off to have a relax and get ready before jetting off on Saturday to Ibiza for the week. Need to buy some things still and really should start getting my clothes out!

Tonight I am going to try those cheese and potato pastys that someone mentioned on these forums. Hopefully cheer my bloke up as he was a bit down this morning.

Have a good day all :D
2010 is the year of bargain shopping! Time to money save, exercise and plan! I like to keep busy :)

Afternoon All - where has the day gone??

    (((Crazychik))))

N9eav - well done you should be very proud of yourself.
Taplady - hope the water falls rapidly - there is more rain forcast tomorrow here, wont be moaning though after seeing all those terrible pictures on the news.

Hypno - 15 min bursts and babysteps work for me. If I do too much on 1 go I wear myself out and end up doing nothing but feeling bad.

Got home from school run late as was chatting - nice to catch up with people but puts me behind all day. Have done 1 load of washing which is on the line and hoovered and washed kitchen floor. Have locally produced pork and apple sausages for tea which are defrosting now although DS will probably have fried egg rolls as he comes in late from football.

Am waiting for mr pc man to turn up anyminute. Cant wait to have my new laptop completely up and running. This afternoon will have to catch up on the paperwork I would normally have done this morning but thats ok I quite fancy sitting on my bum all afternoon. Was meant to make some choc chip cookies this afternoon but not sure that will happen.

Nothing else to report here - quite boring at the moment but at least when things are boring I tend to get on top of my housework!

Best be off - have a great day.
