Well at least you wear them, Moaning Myrtle. One of the problems my Mum has is keeping coats in several sizes. Her weight doesn't change very much but it's hard for her to throw away a 'good coat' she has invested in, just in case she needs it again.

Coats are expensive and I have better things to spend my hard-earned cash on

I should state I have only ever brought 2 of the above at full price.
I do miss those proper 50% boxing day Ted Baker sales.0 -
I have two:
*a khaki parka which is a half step up from a Pac a mac really bought about twelve years ago.
* a navy hooded water resistant hooded coat which can handle more weather than the parka, bought this year.
I also have a couple of hoodies that I wear for exercise until I warm up
I need a smart coat for some occasions but most of the time I feel as if they don't come up often enough to justify the cost and wardrobe space.0 -
Ah good, some fellow coataholics
At the moment I have...
A navy velvet pea coat from Seasalt
A navy cord jacket from Seasalt
A stone coloured cord jacket from Seasalt
A pink velvet 3/4 length coat from Seasalt
A grey velvet 3/4 length coat from Seasalt
A navy waterproof from Seasalt
A yellow duffel coat style rain coat from Seasalt
A pink wool mix coat
Two red wool mix coats
A black wool mix coat
A teal wool mix coat
An orange wool mix coat
A yellow wool mix coat
A red suede look jacket
A chocolate suede look jacket
A black velvet military style jacket
A white leather jacket (known as my "Bolly jacket" as it is almost identical to the one Alex Drake wears in 'Ashes To Ashes)
I have not paid full price for any of these, got some of them at bargain prices in the summertime - I've found June/early July can be a good time to pick up a winter coat cheap online as no one else wants to buy one then normally
I had a beautiful turquoise suede coat which I did not get as much wear out of as I would have liked due to losing weight, it went to a charity shop though where I hope someone found it and gave it a new loving home...DFW no.554 - Proud to be dealing with my debts :TDAVID TENNANT CAN PROBE ME WITH HIS SONIC SCREWDRIVER ANYTIME...:AFLYING THE FLAG FOR THE CAMBRIDGE BOOTS TARTS :happyhear0 -
I have 2 leather jackets (both blazers), 1 3/4 length leather coat, 1 long leather coat, 2 wool coats (1 long black coat which hits slightly below the knee and 1 long tan coat that goes slightly above the knee), 1 polo coat, 1 jean jacket and 1 nylon windbreaker jacket0

I bought a beautiful Frank Usher wool coat in a charity shop 10 years ago Why someone got rid of it I don't know. I am still wearing it and it looks like new and always in fashion. My hubby bought a waxed Barbour at the same time and his is still going strong.0

I belong in the camp that a girl can never have too many coats - not in our climate:rotfl:
Given that we have to wear a coat or jacket of some description most days of the year I do like to have variety and choice.
Having said that I keep them for years, I never pay full price, buying them either in the sales or in charity shops.
Although I have loads of coats, jackets etc I reckon I spend very little. My last 4 were picked up in a charity shop sale £8 for a full length navy cashmere coat, £9 for a raincoat and two jackets at £4 each. £25 the lot, all immaculate and as new.
I did have a cull when I moved house.0
