  • There seem to have been masses of slippers and slipper socks all across the country then? It seemed like ours had almost a full aisle!

I'm so tempted to go back out to another store! I realised that I completely forgot to look for St Tropez stuff - I got some last year in the 75% sale - did anyone see any?

On a slightly different note if we all report the troll posts as spam then hopefully MSE will remove them x
Yes, quite an assortment in my local store, being ignored by all :rotfl:.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

I looked and they were not included in the Gloucester store sale.

I'm laughing at those on Boot's facebook page, who are threatening to become Superdrug shoppers, because they didn't get what they hoped. Anything I wanted, I bought when it was 50% off, I knew not much would be left in the 70/75% sale. Waiting & hoping is a chance that people take. Throwing dummies out and threatening to shop at Superdrug?

Agreed. There were a few things I had wanted and bought at 50%. Bargains are great but you don't have a right to them!

Did think about doing it on-line but I really enjoy the fun !
Went to my local store for opening , bought a load of bits for my 2 teen boys - some for general toiletries to use day to day , other bits to put by for birthdays and a few ladies bits as 'spare' presents. Lived the Jamie Oliver bits for my kitchen !
I'm not a great lover of some of the gift sets, and I really don't buy for many people at Xmas anymore!
The one thing I did like was the pack of 4 beers/ cider / lager,,,, these worked out cheaper than Tesco , so I got 2 of each!,
    Spent £189--saved over£400
Even remembered my advantage vouchers and got another 10% off!
Then nice store manager helped me carry it all to car!
    See you all next year:T
:money: I will never be rich but I'm happy :rotfl:

Went to Manchester Arndale this morning with my 72 year old mother who is at an age where she thinks she can say and do anything she wants!! She's never been to a Boots sale before, so I asked her what she wanted and I was prepared to go and [STRIKE]fight for[/STRIKE] get them.

Next minute, I spot my Mum arguing with a woman who had hit her in the side with a basket. Lady was lovely apologising, Mum's stood there, arms full of Brilliant Brunette items (even though she's grey) saying 'Do you know how old I am, have some respect! :o:o

I then went to find the soap and glory sets and heard mother shouting me, 'OVER HERE, THERE OVER HEEEERRRRREEEEE, WHOOOO HOOO, HERE I AM' waving at me with S&G set in her hand. :o

I then seen the scarves and slippers and seen a nice cream scarf reduced from 12 to 3.60 so put it over my neck to see if it was too long ... Mum decides it nice for me, says she'll treat me to it and then tries to put it in the basket .. whilst it's still round my neck!!

When I'd finally got all my stuff, I told her we should go downstairs and pay as upstairs was total carnage. We went down the stairs and to the self scan and she was picking things up along the way and when I got to the till, she asked me to put them through on my bill as she thought I'd like them for someone

Never ever going to a Boots sale with my mother ever ever again!!

Hi Did they have any toys in the chelmsford town branch??? Im just wandering if I should make the trip into town????

    Hi,
I saw absolutely no toys, they must have been cleared out early, hope this saves you the trip. :(

For non-toiletries, saw 2 onesie's, some Jamie Oliver olive bowls and some of those inexpensive pre-teen makeup things, such as little nail polish or eye shadow sets.
  • It was Bristol actually!

Did anyone go to Guildford this morning?

I gave it a miss as last year was a nightmare, it was like a rugby scrum

Just wondered what the stock levels were like as they usually have quite a bit in the sale.

I went to Guildford this morning, didn't know about the sale until I got there! Only went to spend the boots voucher I got for christmas.

It wasn't too bad (although I didn't get there until 10:30ish), there was quite a lot of stock of each thing and weren't too many people but the people that were there all had at least 4 baskets each! I ended up queueing twice (first time came out a lot less than I expected so went back and looked round some more) the queue had around 6/7 people in (but all with 4+ baskets/ikea bags) so the second time I queued a staff member skipped me ahead because I was the only one with a small enough pile to use the self-service tills!

Had a £10 giftcard, bought £48 worth of stuff and paid 55p. Very happy bunny today! :j

Went to bed at the wrong time, but them's the breaks. I did manage to get a wee order thru the back door this morn so not a total loss.
Took ickle Poppy Cavie dog to the vet's for her op this morn (she's fine, bandaged and we'll be reunited around 4 ish yay!) then popped in store and got a No 17 little cream set for Mum to try out and some oriental Champneys for me.

Thank you for the chat thru the wee small hours...it's nice to know some fellow tat collecting chavs <3;)
