Forgive me this is my first post!. Got to Fareham store about 7.45 and there was a small group of people. Opened at 8 and there was a rush upstairs but I managed to get the handful of bits I wanted for my little girl (no mean feat at 6 months pregnant!). Felt like a fraud as other people were going mad with their huge Ikea bags.
I've been trying to add this to my basket since yesterday morning so if any kind soul comes across it would you get it for me. I would of course pay for item and postage

    Thank you so very much
  • Stopped by Chelmsford, Essex, just before mid-day. Had plenty of company, as it seemed a lot of ladies were stopping in during their lunch hour. Great atmosphere, friendly people. Maybe that was because the early birds had already been through for the No 7, S&G, etc. so it was more people picking up 'basics' rather than re-selling etc.

Bought the Extracts Cocoa Butter collection at £3 and two of the little Champneys boxes at 3.60. Nothing fancy but a nice price and a chance to try out some different products.

The had loads of a few things like Lady Gaga's perfume, the Sanctuary bubble bath box and a men's FCUK box, along with plenty of socks and mittens, lol.
  • We went to Lakeside which opened at 9 am lots of people queuing outside. As the shutters came up those with trolleys literally ran into the store and where the aisles are narrow blocked anyone else getting into the aisles!

Got some lovely goodies for hubby and I and some great presents including

The Great War 3 disc sets from the History Channel - reduced from £8 to £2.40 for my brother and father as they love watching these kind of documentarys.

Slippers reduced from £12 to £3.60

Mini umbrella's the kind that go in a small bag reduced from £8 to £2.40

Lots of other bargains already mentioned.

Altho there were lots of rude people who would get whatever they could by barging or shoving; there were I'm pleased to say equally lots of lovely and polite people who were generally helpful in passing stuff or telling you where they saw stuff in their basket.

All in all it wasn't too bad apart from the stampede of shopping trolleys blocking everyone's entrance as it opened!

Well I ventured to my local store this morning and it was the worst year I have seem with all the pushing! I don't work Wednesdays so had to take my 15 month old (no childcare). She was in a small umbrella fold pushchair (similar size to the boots trolleys) and people showed very little respect!. I would politely wait at the end of the aisle to let people in/out but people were just barging past.

I was pleased with what I go including a Happyland Fire station to put away for her birthday.

Would be nice if everyone could shop in harmony and just show a little more respect for each other.
  • I went to the Boots in Oxford at about 8:30 this morning. There was lots of S & G, Champneys, Sanctuary and loads of other stuff too. Not many people and all very civilized. It was the same last year so I am glad to have been saved the frantic free for all that many people on here have reported. Shame about the trolls today but hey ho, there is always one idiot.
  • Hi Guys,
When I get the bus to work it stops at the retail park and then I walk the rest of the way. As I noticed the MSE email this morning I went to the small Boots shop before carrying on!

I got there at 8.10 as normal (it opens at 8), and there were about 10 other people sales shopping. Many of whome had full trollies or in one ladies case 3 baskets (one on each arm and one she was kicking along the floor)

Its a small store but there was 1 isle full of goodies both sides, and then 3 or 4 end stands. I didnt get much only spent £15 (which I used my points for as well)

Actually my best buys were clearance rather than xmas sale -
3 Poppy King for no7 Lipsticks, £2 each.

It was quite amusing seeing the trolly dashers, some with kids in school uniform in tow!

For all those upset about people selling stuff on ebay. It really is those selling on ebay that are going to be in for a shock! Listing fee, 10% final value fee then a paypal fee and then postage for the item. Are they really making a profit?
Agreed. Postage alone on these bulky items will be ridiculous! I wish someone would explain to me how on earth a profit is made?

my thoughts exactly I would love to know how the make money selling it on EBay. The big bags alone are heavy, the listing costs etc surely there cant be that much to be made?

Did anyone go to Guildford this morning?

I gave it a miss as last year was a nightmare, it was like a rugby scrum

Just wondered what the stock levels were like as they usually have quite a bit in the sale.
