Perhaps I can help...I used to film weddings and birthdays and when we filmed a birthday party for an India couple be discovered the hosts were expected to give all the guests a present. As the majority of these events have a guest list going into the hundreds because they invite the whole of their local community this can be quite costly...so I would imagine they are trying to off-set the cost a little.
Wow I didn't know that. That makes sense then! If it were me I'd certainly be looking for bargains too x0 -
Its also a polite nice public forum and people that post rude remarks is not necessary.
I find it odd that you have registered on here just to slag people off, If people want to lose sleep, queue up at Boots and spend money then who are you to call them dumb?
Its not just dumb--- its called blah blah bump-in to get post count over 10+ so they can post URL links.0 -

People queuing and going online in the middle of the night to buy what, let's face it, are hardly premium products is plain bizarre in my opinion. Reading this thread it seems some people have spent £100s so they can hardly be poor. There are reports on here of people practically knocking others out of the way to get at this stuff. I just find it all very amusing and fascinating in a sick kind of way.
just put it down to...everyone loves a bargain, even a perceived bargain. I for one know that the gok sets and what nots aren't worth £20 or whatever but people love to think 'ooh I saved £14 I only got it for £6'. Even though at 3 for 2 it was never worth £20 in the first place, only 2/3 of that.
Sale signs are like catnip to me, stuff that I'd never think of buying at full price suddenly becomes the most wonderful thing in the world when it's on offer. I know that most of the time it's a bit of a con though and try to rein myself in by overriding my sale impulse to buy with rational thought,0 -

Oh go troll off!
Each to their own my daughter loves her boots gifts every year and as a student is happy to recieve things she couldn't otherwise afford0 -
First of all I'm not a troll, you can check my post history. I certainly don't spend my days here. So dry those eyes champ.
I don't have the right to insult anybody, like you have pointed out its a forum. People air their opinions.
You call me deeply unpleasant yet you are exploiting people in a sale for a few blog hits while somehow believing you are better than them. Smacks of hypocrisy.
I doubt you know many people.
No, you don't have the right to insult anybody. Yet, you still have.
'Exploiting people'?! I think you need to re-read previous posts. I don't believe I'm better than anyone else shopping in the Boots sale, and I've never suggested so.
I do, however, believe I'm better than the likes of you.
So don't bother replying to my posts again, as I don't wish to read your ridiculous, poorly written views.
Let's just leave it there, shall we?0 -
Well Bournemouth Town Centre was fairly hellish with a few nice people. Got there just gone 8am (opens at 9) and was 3rd in queue. There's a long row of doors about 8? with autoatic doors in the centre. We decided to queue just to the left of the automatic doors. Only to get lurkers coming 20 minutes later all just bundling up wherever. If there's one thing that gets my goat it's queue jumping!!
They decided to open middle doors first so there was a massive pile up, think I ended up with about 7 people in front of me in the end. It was mad, people were running (It's only Boots lol) one of the main queue jumpers was a lady in a wheelchair who tripped up no less than 4 people (inc me) as her 'driver' was literally running down the aisles with her. (I must admit I did expect her to jump out of it and grab stuff lile in Little Britain ha ha). They'd moved everything downstairs in a back corner, zero room to move.
Luckily I got almost everything I went in for. there must have been 150 of us wedged at one point in just a few aisles, nobody could go anywhere. Buggy's and wheelchairs weren't helping the situation either. The usual suspects with around 9 big blue bags were stacking their wares on the stairs (wonderful idea) and leaving it guarded, that'll be on ebay or fb sale pages later! lol.
So pretty manic, lots of pushing and shoving. But one nice lady who I also recall queuing with last year watched my bags so I could return a few items back to the shelves that went over the budget. And when I went to pay upstairs the lady who was first in the 'proper' queue ended up behind me, she had some transformers I had completely not seen (even on my reccie, lol) I said I can't believe I missed those my son loves them and she offered me one of hers. How lovely! There are some kind people left after all. I sadly had to turn her down as had already maxed out my budget (plus would need to have checked which ones he already had) but what a lovely gesture.
Did my paying in 3 loads to max out points! Lol
All done now... see you all next year! lol0 -
For all those upset about people selling stuff on ebay. It really is those selling on ebay that are going to be in for a shock! Listing fee, 10% final value fee then a paypal fee and then postage for the item. Are they really making a profit?0
