  • just read the posts on this thread, and I have posted my bargains too. It has all made me chuckle, for those of you saying that we are sad, or it is tat and they would rather have a lie in, then why are you wasting your time typing your negative opinions on this forum when you have not even joined in. Bah humbug to you. As for those who work in teams to grab all the No7 sets and S & G big sets - boo to you. Greedy guts.

I really do think that boots should ban trolleys from other stores, the aisles just simply are not big enough. But guess they don't - all the shelves will be full of swim suits, sunglasses and sunscreen tomorrow!!

    Happy Holidays.

  • Hi everyone,

Went to my local Boots after I dropped my son off at school, wasn't sure what i'd find but thankfully they still had quite a bit left.
Got the Champneys vanity case which was £50 reduced to £15 which was the one I was hoping for and a few Sanctuary spa and Soap & Glory gift sets for pressies throughout the year. Spent £60ish and full price value was about £220 so very chuffed!

After I did this I had to go into Nottingham to get a click and collect order from John Lewis...curiosity got the better of me and I ventured into Vic Centre Boots. Carnage is the only word I can use to describe! couldn't believe it! I knew it would be bad but they had to cordon off the area just to re-stock, people were walking round with pretty much the whole shelf in their trolley/baskets...don't think i've ever seen so many people clamouring to get stuff. Bit scary to be honest!

Anyhoo on the end of a shelf I picked up an Angry Birds money box and cologne set for my DS. Since it didn't have a price on and they couldn't find it in the catalogue the manager put it through at 50p! So happy with that too :j

Don't think i'll bother with bigger Boots stores on sale day...there might be a bit more choice but you're less likely to get anything and more likely to get ran over by someone who wants that bargain more than you!

Which one - I saw loads of bewildered looking men standing guard over trolleys and bags whilst the women were off scouting for more bargains! I took some photos with my phone for my blog, and a very rude woman asked me 'Why the **** I was taking her photo'... I politely replied that I was a journalist writing a piece on people who'll do anything to save a few quid (I'm not, but her face was a picture).

    Did you get much? xx

Is a short guy (sorry ) standing near (not next )the escalator.when you come up from the groundfloor you will see his face first (which gave me a fright as he bear uncanny resemblance to one of the character from Benefit street)

to be honest I got zilch for myself , joules set for my husband, and the rest (about 85%) are toys for my son .

Weird nobody mentioned that fury is in the sale too. I got one reduced to 18 pounds, not fantastic but will do for my son's furby x

Lot of dumb people on this thread in my opinion, though it has given me a good laugh reading about the hordes of people, losing sleep and queueing to hoover up heaps of tat.

Lighten up love. It's up to us what we do with our lives. I'd rather spend two hours buying tat than sitting on the internet sneering at others anyway, it's a significantly better use of my time.

Its privacy. Not everybody wants their life all over the internet or Facebook.

I don't want some scrote with a silly blog trying to get a few more hits using my pictures and Im sure Im not the only one.

What a deeply unpleasant person you are. It's people like you who make others not want to post on forums. What on earth makes you think you have a right to insult me or anyone you don't know in this way?

I wasn't actually taking a photo of the woman. She wasn't even in it. And I don't understand how someone who spends their days trolling forums has the nerve to comment on what anyone else uses the internet for.

Now go away so all of the normal posters on here can continue enjoying their thread.

Ah I don't think I noticed him! Glad you got some stuff anyway. Was it just was or was there no S&G at all? I didn't see any x

    I've been Money Tipped!
Like others who tried to buy online, all that I wanted I was unable to buy.
I had my eye on No. 7 skincare set, ladies 4 pack socks, baileys and lg candle. They all came up as discontinued as some items missing.
All that I could add to my basket was the herbs and planter set, which, incidentally, was still there from the night before. I then decided that to pay £4,50 for that plus delivery really was not a great deal, so checked out.
I wd be interested to know if anyone else got the No.7 Skincare set or whether it got split up somehow.
Total waste of time, I had followed all the posts for weeks, the website is c..p, and for those who bought items, are they really such bargains at even sale prices?
Lesson learned, the only ones truly happy will be Boots Accounts who managed to get rid of all the tat!

Anyone know what's left in the Derby branches? I can't get out until this afternoon! :(

They were replenishing the Westfield one as I left just before 10, however there were still 60-80 ppl trying to cram in... FC for you

Just got back from Trafford Centre boots, absolute mayhem, some people had managed to find shopping trolleys (or more likely taken them from M and S next door) and packed them to the rafters.....I got a few things but didn't go there for the 70% sale, but for another bargain,
They had biotherm gift sets at 50% off, which weren't part of the 3 for 2 Christmas gifts but fantastic value as included full size moisturiser and toner and small cleanser. These were all going at £14 so I bought around 10 and is it a crime to admit I will split the ones I don't use up and put them on fleabay?
The unsung hero of the sale! and so much more civilised as no one seemed to know these were on offer so I was the only one grabbing them!
apart from that my other best bargain of the sale was a talking nemo for £3 which my son will love for his birthday!
  • hugs to all of you ladies, please don't let this thread take the fighting stadium way, we're all happy sisters who love shopping and are here to chat and share experience so pleeeeaaaasse keep this in mind before writing any posts , XoXo
