  • This years christmas stock must have been bad as for the first time I hardly bought anything. Also it was 70% off not the usual 75%. Even at 70% off what was there did not appeal to me. I bought a few presents for throughout the year and that was it.

Sorry to hear about the cancellation e-mails. I ordered at 5.20 this morning after having added my items through the back door route and have had the dispatch e-mail to collect in store tomorrow. My complete order has been dispatched but I only had five smallish things. Hope not too much of your orders get cancelled.

My child was at school, I was commenting on the events I had seen in store but I feel that the few of you who are saying no room for buggies/wheelchairs are just rude. Are people with children and people who are wheelchair bound not allowed to nab a bargain?

At least they wasn't greedy, well the ones I see anyway. Not everyone has partners who can get time off work (if they work), surely taking time off work cost you more than what's been saved?

Also the Oracle Boots always has all the Christmas stuff upstairs where all the children and baby stuff is. That doesn't matter though does it, they are not allowed to shop today because a sale is on? What about the clusters of family/friends who was blocking aisle more than buggies and wheelchairs?

    Rolls eyes.

I went to the Oracle Boots this morning and it was horrific. Like locusts but locusts have better manners.

One woman was so desperate to add to her four ikea bags piled high that she lent over my pram, grabbed a toy and promptly dropped it on my babies head. Silly woman didn't apologise, I removed the toy from the pram and was holding it whilst waiting for the obvious apology. No apology came. So I said "thanks for this I've been looking for it, William this will make it all better" and walked off with him crying.

This was all about 10am when I thought I would avoid the rush. I got loads of toys in the end and lots of hair stuff but mainly from random places where people had dumped their unwanted items. I didn't fancy the scrum, mainly because other prams were blocking aisles, mostly without babies in them.

Worse still... I went in by bus, now that's always a recipe for someone to whine about my pram taking up seats :(

  • I messed about for 90 mins trying to keep items in basket (I didn't add any before sale went live). Eventually, I had to add something random (Hairy Bikers trivet - def not keeping!) to get total over £20 for free delivery. Finally managed to order five items around 6.30am. Have just had email to say order has been despatched, so I think I've been lucky. Went to local High St Store at 8.25am - only one person waiting - disappointingly not much on offer. Only another four customers by time store opened but only managed to get small Gok and No7 men's gift sets, some Christmas cards and slipper socks - all paid for with points.

im far from a troll hun i commented on your post saying you were taking pics and a woman asked why you were taking her pic.....you called her rude???why for asking ??or for swearing??..so yes i called it tragic .....if i was shopping and someone took my pic id have went ballistic ...blog,facebook whatever ....thats not trolling thats telling you how id react...quite different to a pic of some empty shelves, was your declaration earlier of taking pics of mad shoppers fighting for soap n glory eh.....................

No you were not, please stop with the lies and self pity. You were not called dumb for taking pictures. You were called dumb for what you claimed you told that lady.

And I wasn't trolling, like I said if I saw you taking pictures of me in that sale your phone would be over the other side of the shop.

    Oh, you're back. How delightful!

Thank you for providing me with some dialogue for the book I'm currently writing. I now have lots of ideas for my 'village idiot' character.
  • Well I heard what was a quite unbelievable story from a colleague at lunch time. Apparently there was a quite large women who had darted through the doors at opening time only to be either pushed or slipped. She had careered into a sunglasses mobile stand which she had taken down with her. My work colleague said that she was in pain lying on the floor. My colleague said she went to her assistance because it was a heavy fall.

Astonishingly though, she said shoppers were stepping round and over her in their quest to shovel goods into baskets and bags.

The women was actually hurt but there was absolutely no compassion apart from the staff whom were apparently fantastic.

Didn't catch the store, think it was either MK or Notthampton though-maybe you were there? - if so you should be ashamed!!

Nothing more than animals. Should a sad reflection on society...people will literally stop and nothing going by this story and many others on this thread.
