The cat actually has so much style that the people who own the garden at the back have now built miss noisy whinging pants a ramp to get over the fence. I can't decide if they're cat lovers or if they were just fed up of the noise she made every time she got stuck. I gave up collecting her in the end and just hung a ladder attached to a skipping rope over the fence every time I heard her crying. I assume the neighbours were also fed up of a ladder coming over their fence on a regular basis. You couldn't make it up......
:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Oh my goodness CRANKY, that is hilarious.
I have a mental image of the cat hanging on to the ladder with one arm (or should that be one paw?) while you haul it over the fence...in the style of James Bond...
and where does she get into their garden, that she can't get out the same way?

She goes from our shed roof or next doors wheelie bins onto the fence then walks down the fence until she's on the fence at the back of their garden then she jumps down. There was nothing for her lady ship to climb on to get back up so they've built her a ramp in the corner. Having to knock on a strangers door and say " Excuse me but please can I have my cat back?" Was not one of my better moments in time.0 -

:rotfl::rotfl:Love it, it doesn't take cats too long to train us does it!! My cats have me trained as a door opener. They have a cat-flap and it doesn't matter if the back door is wide open, they meow at the front until I give in and open it for them :rotfl::rotfl:
Not been posting as RL taken over and been a bit depressed too. Sometimes when I'm down writing helps, other times it's just too much like hard work and all I want to do is stay in my darkened room away from everything until I feel more able to cope.
I've had a couple of joyous events here - 2 alpacas have had their criasThey are just so cute and while they are 2 more mouths to feed, with luck they should make their mothers more attractive and hopefully a bit more valuable to prospective buyers. All I need to do now is gird my loins and put them up for sale
Hugs to those in need and congratulations to all those who've been successful in what they set out to do and finally a big hello to all newbies too. Welcome on board - I think we Singlies are a very unique bunch; I think that's why we are also a very interesting bunch and can offer so much advice. We are all single for many, many reasons and we have therefore experienced so many different things and being outside of the expected stereotype we look at life differently - which to my mind is a very liberating thing. :beer:Aiming for a Champagne Lifestyle on a Lemonade Budget

Congrats on the happy events! I'm sure they are beyond cute
My new girl had her first night in the hen house with the big girls last night, and lived to tell the tale :T. I checked on them all first thing this morning and have removed the pet cage which gives them (and me!) loads more room.
It's a bit early as far as keeping an eye on whether she is as healthy as she appears to be (so as not to pass anything grot to my ladies), but it's a risk I need to take as tomorrow I am away over the other side of the country, so need her to be able to have access to plenty of food and water, which isn't possible in a cage, where she constantly stands in her water. That's fine when I can replenish it every couple of hours, but leaving her 24 hrs isn't an option.
I am so shattered! And it's just the start of the week! Never stopped all weekend (lunch finally happened at 10.30pm!), and still didn't get done everything I need to. Just going through one of those busy times!
I didn't get to even think about paint colours or get the samples out. No idea when I'll fit that in. I will probably go with my gut instinct
Loving the cat stories :rotfl:
My own puss is finally back to normal this morning, demanding kisses, such a sweetie.
A lovely thing happened last night...one of the ladies who walks her dog past the allotment, and has been very encouraging about my fostering application, dropped off a sack of toys...a wii, and remote controlled car amongst them. Lovely of her to think about me
Right, got to go and start the working week. Have a good 'un

Evening all
Hope Monday has been/is being kind to you all
I've had a busy but ok day on the work front. Seem to have spent most of the day in meetings! I did get lunch out though, so I suppose it could have been worse
I'm just waiting for the arrival of the next company that I've asked to come round to quote for my new patio doors so thought I would pop in here whilst I have a few mins. Not sure I will get back again later as feel pooped. Didn't sleep brilliantly last night as it was soooo muggy. Anyone else find it hard to sleep when it's warm?
Enjoying all the animal stories and awww re: the new arrivals
Have a lovely evening

Reading this made me realise, this summer has been rubbish re warm temperatures (where I live anyway, some of you are obviously getting some warmth). I've worn shorts only 2 or 3 times, haven't worn a vest top or sandals at all, and haven't put sun tan lotion on once (that was a waste of money!)
Still have the thick sheet on the bed, and, whisper it as I'm slightly embarrassed, still putting the electric blanket on for 10 minutes at night to warm up my cold feet
I only tried an electric blanket for the first time when I was away from home a couple of years ago, and have now bought myself one. It is the Best Thing Ever for a singlieno more being cold in bed. I have one which turns itself off after an hour, in case I fall asleep without doing it, as I don't like it too hot through the night. But usually 10 - 15 minutes is enough.

The Bank of Mum is a wonderful thing, isn't it?
My DSs expect me to get their deliveries too...even the one who doesn't live with me will get his parcels sent to mine, because "you'll be in, won't you?", like I don't have a life that doesn't revolve round them :rotfl:
Still clearing up "inch by inch". The weather was nice today, so hacked back more of the garden...now nursing a very sore finger which seems to have a thorn in it, but right under the skin. Trying some old wives remedies tonight.

Yeah, it is nice actually...I'd hate my boys to think they couldn't come to me with problems, especially when I'm their only parent, so when I'm there for the little day to day things, they also share the big stuff. It's just time consuming sometimes

DS1 collected a parcel and a letter on Saturday. last month's parcels were overflowing the chair and onto the spare bed (he and gf went to visit her mum in Greece). Apart from a 3 month emergency 18 months ago, he hasn't lived with me for about six years (previous emergency, when his rented cottage was flooded out) although his furniture stayed about a year longer than he did.
DS2 collects his mail once a month (unless I think a tax letter or hospital appointment might be urgent). He sends parcels here and also asks me to 'sit' waiting for things with a morning or afternoon delivery time. He moved from here last Summer (before DS3 and I moved back in) and is still getting letters at the other house which he left about 3 years ago. Every month I ask him to get them switched over (I only paid for mine and DS3's to be re-directed and all ours are all done).
Ah well, it is nice to see them and catch up.
Did quite a bit of 'inch by inch' yesterday. Tackled washing up, ventured into the pit of doom for the pizza box mountain and other rubbish (+ more hidden pots), put out several loads of washing and 1/2 filled the green bin with prunings and weeds (love having my own supply of blackberries outside the back gate but want them against the walls and the metal fence, not snaking across the floor. Had to retreat to the bed to rest several times but very pleased. Resisted the urge to go back to weeding in the middle of the night when I couldn't sleep.
Not done a lot today but did bring in all the dry washing before it started to pour down and have filled the bin including a black bag from the backs. Plus more paperwork. Would have liked to do more but will keep pushing myself but not 'beating myself up' when I don't do everything on the list (trying not to even look at the list or I might just hide under the bedclothes). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0
