Evening All
Average kind of week here ...other than the weather which frankly can only be called erratic! I feel like we've had several seasons during the course of the day... definitely doesn't feel like August.
:hello: Ellie - yes it can be a juggling act. To be honest I used to drive myself almost to the point of insanity trying to get everything done all the time (I can be a bit of perfectionist...at least in my own mind!;)) However, I have realised that I'm only human and sometimes it's ok to make a choice to leave something not done or to postpone for another day... and be a bit more gentle on myself sometimes
Agree all singlies deserve some applause :T :T0 -

Well done on the pressies mum2one - sounds like some good bargains. Bet your daughter will be chuffed too
Just popped in to see how everyone is doing?
Hopefully your day has been better than mine. I've had a particularly stressful day on the work front and so have decided to head to the pub with a mate to 'put the world to rights' over a large G&T
Have a great evening

Hi All
I've been a bit quiet for a while as have been shattered (you're not kidding, Ellie, that working full time is knackering when you also have to do everything at home yourself, too!), but also, I've been swotting up for my fostering panel review, which was this morning....and no I couldn't say before as I just needed to concentrate on doing the best I could.
...oh, ok then, I'll tell you...saying as you insist... :rotfl:
Yes, I've been recommended for approval...unanimously no less.. :T by the panel.
I feel 6 ft tall tonight. It's a huge achievement for me, and so exciting, and took only 3.5 months from start of my application in mid April until today. Not bad going at all.
So, tonight, I'm enjoying my wee success, and then tomorrow, I'll start getting my head around the fact that the real hard work is about to start.
So, thank you for your encouragement and support...I'm going to need it in spades from now on!
Gosh...me...a foster carer! Who'd a thunk it? :rotfl:

Now for the enjoyable part/more hard work
Off for another day at the salt mines...today and tomorrow will be very busy, and then it should quieten down a bit, thank goodness.

Thanks for your congrats!
I am so excited I didn't get to sleep until after 3am . I doubt I'll sleep at all when I am responsible for a child and they are actually in my house!
Luckily, I've taken today off work to get my head round it and relax after a tough few weeks of preparation.
It's a gorgeous morning here. Once I've finished my breakfast, I'll get myself dressed and hit the charity shops to see what I can find that will make my spare room more welcoming for children of all ages - games, puzzles, colouring pens, books etc. Any other suggestions very gratefully received. At the moment, I have nothing at all that is for children (naturally)...well, just a couple of teddy bears that I have had for years. As I have no idea what ages of children could be here, I have a fairly wide spectrum of ages, so will look for things that can cover a few ages.
When I get back, I'll finally make myself sort my bloomin cupboards and the shed...anything remotely potentially harmful is going in my shed if I can manage with the inconvenience on a daily basis.
Enjoy your day, All

LB, that sounds a lovely idea, I'd also look at £1 shops, you can get an array of bargains there.
Books - I'd go for general ones, Little Miss, Mr Men, (younger kids), Horrid Henry (both girls and boys)
Puzzles - £1 shop get kids 2/4 yrs upto 500 piece older
colouring books, paper, pencils (avoid crayons, felt tips in bedroom, - incase u have an artist that likes wall decorating
xxxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0
