Nope not just you LB... I had a list of tasks I wanted to get done today....but can't get butt into gear and so have only done the first couple.
I might have got more done but the lure of the tennis is proving too much0 -
Yes, the tennis is too distracting, isn't it? Let's blame them :T
Actually, have just thought 26kgs is a lot to haul upstairs in the first place! I can't imagine I'll be able to do that! Think the understairs cupboard will be better for storing this monstrosity in (when it's tidied out, of course!;))
I'll not be ordering it for a couple of weeks as am working on building up my amazon vouchers to reduce the price. Even £20 will be a big help!

This is an excellent idea, turns it right round back onto the rude person to justify themselves (or not, of course!)
JKS, have you ever tried positive affirmations? They can be quite helpful if you think of the right ones to say to yourself.LavenderBees wrote: »Gawd, is it just me or do you all feel like you've achieved nothing today, too?
I tried, I really did
Computer off and into the neverending kitchen building site...
I pulled off some wallpaper and cleaned the tops of the wall units (yuck!). Oh joy, I discovered a big damp patch under the wallpaper
But I haven't got much done, I'd intended to paint the first unit today, but it hasn't happened. My dodgy arm and neck are giving me gyp today and I can hardly move them, so everything seems much harder than normal.
All I can think about is that I've got chocolate gateau in the fridge, and is it tea time yet?
If you could live one day of your life over again, which day would you choose?0 -
LB, 26kg is heavy, that's over 55lbs!
Wouldn't fancy getting that upstairs, or putting it in a wardrobe!

Yep. I'll be lucky to maneouvre it under the stairs, but if I time it all well, there'll be a burly eletrician here at some point who will help, I'm sure.
He also "specialises in replacing toilet seats"..be still my beating heart :rotfl:
I've told him he's a keeper :smileyhea

ETA on the plus side, nae kid is going to be able to move it!0 -

ohhh, burly as well as good with his hands, what more could you want...swoon :heartsmil
Taking the attitude that getting a little something done is better than nothing, I've done some gardening...nothing interesting, just cutting back stuff which is growing too large. Stopped when the rain came on again.
Got some more wallpaper off while I was making tea, let the food look after itself...or to make it sound better, I can multi task

Jks, many years ago when I was a young thing...lol...I was going into my dentist when a pregnant woman said 'snap' as she looked at my tummy.in a split second my face said it all...and we both scuttled in totally embarrassed...just fat then...:o
The advantage of age, no one thinks I'm pregnant now...:D0 -
LavenderBees wrote: »...As for cat litter trays, I was told in no uncertain terms on Friday that my wanting to ensure my cats are safe from any potential child issues and kept healthy/stress free as possible, is a barrier to fostering as the panel are child centred and will not understand my appearing to put my cats first. I countered with the fact that if I didn't feel love and responsibility for my cats, then frankly they shouldn't be considering placing any child with me. The same caring and responsibility will come into play for any child, but it has to be balanced for all of us and that includes the cats. Went down like a lead balloon
I'm happy to try the covered trays but if it doesn't work, then fostering will not be for me.

Crikey, that's a rather draconian attitude of the fostering agency to take. Frankly I'd be a bit worried if you said "Fine, I'll get rid of the cats then" (like you meant it obviously :rotfl:) - to me that would suggest that if you weren't that bothered about your cats, you may not be that bothered about the child if something else like a new job came along. Very short sighted of them. Hark at me, like I know anything about kids & parentingI'd choose cats over children any day....

I feel like I'm treading through waist high treacle. Giving up on even thinking of tidy cupboards. That's always something to look forward to next weekend :rotfl:

Not felt like I've achieved anything for about, oh, about 2 years. Isn't the wading through treacle feeling normal then?Jks, many years ago when I was a young thing...lol...I was going into my dentist when a pregnant woman said 'snap' as she looked at my tummy.in a split second my face said it all...and we both scuttled in totally embarrassed...just fat then...:o

Missed your humour on here Byatt, so lovely to see you
I suppose I should be pleased that people think I'm still of the age to get pregnant (putting my best Alastair Campbell spin head on). It's getting very unlikely....& as for some happy ending I'd rather stay single & thin

Hah! EXACTLY...
Hold that thought, JKS, as clearly "The Mouth" thinks you are attractive and young enough to be getting some action resulting in pregnancy! So albeit 48 hrs too late, I'm starting to think she was paying you a compliment
Yer see, we were all so negative... :rotfl:
Treading through treacle is mainly what I do at work so I don't allow it in my home life....hate that feeling of not getting things done/ticking off my list. Having said that, the work at the weekend has resulted in me moving things forward last night, so I'm feeling better now :T
Nearly Wednesday already. Not quite as good as nearly Friday, but a lot better than nearly Monday.
Hope you're all having a good week!

.
Seconded, keep posting Byatt
Have spent the last 2 days doing a bit of gardening and some puppy sitting. I am in the running for the gold medal in procrastination...every morning I get up with good intentions to paint kitchen cupboards, I even put on my painting t-shirt this morning...and the lid hasn't been off the tin yet. I really don't want to do it!
The joiner is expected on Monday, so I may be very busy on Sunday
"Nearly Wednesday already"...not so keen, I'm working tomorrow, don't usually do Wednesdays. At least the weather looks promising.
