I'm serving the day apart from being woken at 4 by my daughter and then half five by my son. They are due back in half an hour from their dad's. Suppose I better move my !!!! out of this bed then. Note cat sat looking at me. She's not moved in an hour.

It's been a very long time since I've been on the forum but thought I would drop in and send my Best Wishes to LavenderBees and all the other Singlies on the thread.

Because I've had a beast of a cold/chest infection for the past week and more, like LavenderBees I cooked most of my Christmas lunch a few days ago and froze it, so an easy peasy day re-heating the meat and roasties, only got the fresh veg to cook. Rustled up a quick and easy chocolate mousse this morning for pud whilst listening to all my childhood favourite songs on Ed 'Stewpot' Stewarts radio show, all my favourite buffet style foodstuffs are stacked up in the fridge for later .

Best go as the oven's up to temp, then it will be feet up in front of the telly and flick through the channels - got no idea whats on

    Pop....glug, glug, glug......slurp....ahhhhh - wine poured -

Hope you all enjoy your day whatever way you are spending it.

Hello fellow singlies. Not long back from my parents house - mum cooked a lovely dinner of roast beef (must remember to look at the posher joints in Aldi next time I am in there because this is where the meat came from). She cooked syrup sponge for pud whilst at the same time nagging me about my weight.

She wrapped up two books to give to my dad as a present - he then announced that he hadn't read them before bless him, I said that I had checked with mum's list so I knew he hadn't read them before.

Mum kindly sewed the button back on my work trousers as it was hanging off.

I was given my present - some cash to buy whatever I wanted and mum had managed to sell my cake knife for a fiver and gave me money for my aunt's fishcakes which are now in mum's freezer waiting for the next time my aunt visits.

My best pal sent me a lovely pendant with a tree on it and abalone shell which shines through the branches of the tree (the pendant can be worn two ways because it looks equally nice on the reverse). She had also knitted me a lovely snuggly scarf. I am feeling very blessed indeed.

Mum also gave me some new baubles for my tree and a beautiful bead garland that she had in a storage box in the loft - it is in shades of silver, pink and mauve and looks great on my white tree. I think that tomorrow I will redecorate the tree entirely.

Well my os ways must have rubbed off on the ex. Note to self must remember to give kids three quid and set them free in the pound shop next year. Came back from aunties with half a turkey. Off to aldi to see what I can pick up to create a pie with it. Kids have been up an hour and I can hear them downstairs with the remote control car my son got chasing said cat. Bwahahaha karma. Well I better get up and go resuce mum I'm off home today ( a stones throw away) and will soon be handing kids to their dad. I get to do decluttering toys and clean and ebay them. Bake, make soap and detergent and do me things. Bliss.

    Evening all

Hope everyone has had a good day whatever you have been up to. I've had a quiet relaxing day which has been just what I needed.

Has anyone had snow? We've only had rain here... at least so far

    BW :)

    Evening BW et al

Yes, I have had snow here and I hate it although it might be turning to mush now and black ice which will be great fun in the morning when I go to work.

Had a sofa day today - not motivated to do anything except channel hop. Saw a fab kids programme by David Walliams (I always like his stuff) called The Boy in a Dress which was quite comical. Haven't eaten well at all - mainly scotch eggs with crisps and I had a slice of chocolate log with cream.

Hope everyone had a fab day today and stayed in the warm.

We have a better day today, seems a lot less stressful, had a lazy lie in, did get up at 8am raided my stocking and went back to bed with a mini can diet coke, and a bar of hershes lush...

Dinner was a lot less pressure, mostly as we had meat left from yesterday, I've spent the afternoon tottering on the computer, DD been doing her hair and playing outside in the snow, the dog and parents - usual...

Going to nip into town 2mor put some cheques in, then sort house ins, car tax, and a sneak into sales, but unless won the lottery be window shopping....

At least snow not stuck more rain, but watching out for black ice.

    hope everyone ok xxxx

I watched Gangsta granny the other day - written by David Walliams and he was in it with Miranda and Robbie Williams had a bit part. Kids film but great fun. We had snow but it's not sticking. As I have made preparations - bins are right outside the back door, lots of food, repaired the faulty front door lock - no need to go out in it so just admired how pretty it looked and reminisced about playing on the car park when the boys were small.

Organising bits of my life to spend as little as possible. Planning a cooking and crafting weekend, no pressure, no deadlines. Only realised this evening that DS3 has now been away at gf's for a week and might come back (depends how long he can cope with her parents).

Ex sent me a card saying he was sorry I was all alone and perhaps DS2 will pop in on me, had two missed phone calls from him on Christmas Day and a voice mail message saying the same thing - I am celebrating here, I am overjoyed and having a fabulous time (didn't realise how much DS3's sleeping habits were bothering me - if he's downstairs, the bed creaks every time he turns over, up here I hear his silly cartoons all the time). Must tell DS2 not to pass on my phone number to random people.
My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.
