    I'm not working today :D

gives me plenty of time to get all the things done in the house which still need doing before tomorrow. Both my sons will be here, and they can eat a lot :)

Some of us on this thread will be spending tomorrow with friends or family, and some will be spending it alone. Whatever you're doing, I hope you all have a contented and peaceful christmas. :xmassmile

Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas, hope Santa brings lots of treats, just to say thank you to everyone for all the support and kind words with everything we went through with dad. Xxxx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx
  • Well, the big day is coming whether we're ready or not :p

i'm still eating left over Xmas dinner from Sunday, so nibbly things will start tomorrow, no cooking for me. What a relief to be broken up from work and lovely time to chill.

I'm going to get dressed shortly (I'm in my chicken sorting scruffs at the mo...3 of them are now laying...anyone want an egg...I'm overrun! :rotfl:), and go for a gentle mooch round the garden centre, just to get out for an hour, as I expect to be gently pottering in the house the next couple of days. The rest of my day is going to be lazy, soaky bubble bath, PJs on, feet up, chocolate liquer in hand...what's not to like :rotfl:.

Tomorrow, although on my own, I will be sharing my Christmas Day with a lovely friend over texts, phone, Skype etc. We will keep each other company throughout the day, batting away feelings of loss and loneliness into the corner where they belong.

And then we're out the other side and looking forward to Spring again :T

I can't top Ellie's wish for us all to have a peaceful and contented Christmas whatever we are doing, so I won't even try.

    Make it a good'un :)

    LB xx

ETA I've just done Martin's Scrooge quiz...42% is my score...frugal and thrifty. Whey hey!

    I'm 39% tight!

Wishing, along with Ellie, and LB, a peaceful and contented Xmas. Almost on us and tomorrow it will be practically over, although the build up has gone on for ever.

I will be popping out to see Pusses of various families, will take then some of my left over chicken.

My puss cat has had most of his pressies, his favourite being a knitted cat nip ball from the cats protection.

I've just decorated the room with holly shared by the neighbours, Puss cat won't touch it so all's good.

I did all my food shopping during the week and was lucky because it was so quiet and loads of things reduced often to pennies.

    Take care all. Xxx
  • Just popped in to wish everyone a lovely relaxing Christmas!
A good life is when you assume nothing, do more, need less, smile often, dream big, laugh a lot, and realise how blessed you are.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas whatever they are doing.

My body had a shock today, I got up at 5am expecting to get the bus at around 6.13am only to discover when waiting at the bus stop that they are running a Saturday service so I had to wait until 6.35:eek: Still I discovered a few things - some birds (mainly sparrows) start to sing at 5.55am and then at 6am they stop and the robins take over at 6.02am by 6.15 they are all silent again.

Had a quiet day at work today - I really have no idea what the fuss was about. Came home in daylight which is a first and nipped into my local supermarket to get milk and bread.

I love Christmas but its a lot of hard work for one day, I've found it more tiring this time round, as although do the xmas sorting, wrapping, I dont normally do delievering and the general shopping, planning etc.

I feel like what I haven't done its tough luck.... I know I've missed a couple of people for cards, just realised tonight.. but hey it cant be help.

Been out with DD today, been to the cinema this morning to see Get Santa, home, wrap the last couple of food hampers, then doctors to drop present off, asda for wonder and then back to cinema to see Paddington, then finished off the night with delievery pizza and a glass of Baileys....

for the surgery I brought 2 boxes (£1 versions) of flavoured latte and box posh tea bags, popped them on to a tray and a pack of treat size chocs then cello wrapped - spent £5, the lady on reception was over whelmed, she went and fetched the one gp to see it, they all said it was the nicest present they've had, apparently there snowed under with choc tins...

had a nice surprise last night, found a cheque we had lost for £275.... it had fallen into the shredder box, - very relieved, sure once goes in bank be spent, - thou thinking of putting it towards a break in 2015, - compensation off the builders for the hassle we had when they fixed the burst pipe, and the saga of the decorating and mess they made.

Hope everyone has a great day tomorrow, whether your alone, with friends, family or trying to get 5 mins peace. xx
