    Digressing help please............

We have had a rotten 24 hrs, Dd came home from school last night, shes had a massive fall out with her best friend, she met her when she moved primary school in yr 5, theyve been insperable in that time, shes had fall outs with other friends before, kids fall in and out all the time, this seems to be like a divorce.

I dont know what exactly happened, but this girl has stabbed DD in the back, shes thrown her family situ in her face, DD has only really trusted this girl, DD was making herself sick this morning in the hope not going to school.

this girl - shes not an angel, her home life is far from the best social services are involved, we have the girl nearly every ngt after school as she hates going home, she describes her dads gfriend as his latest s e x toy......
Her dad thrashed her bedroom when she lost her fron door key, hes thrown her down stairs (school are aware of this), he regulary leaves her short of money on her lunch card, DD has brought her dinner more than once,

yet she has a iphone 5c on contract (shes 11 coming up 12), upgrading to a 6 plus, she has 2 ipads, having a macbook for xmas...

what do I do, I have spoke to he school before about concerns as I check DDs phone and there was screen shots of a conversation with an older man, - need you gu ess the conversation....

Do i let it ride, I dont want to interfere but i need to supprt dd xx

Howdie, been MIA due to lots of reasons, too many to mention.

Byatt may be right as you can never tell.

Equally, you could have a spoilt child hitting puberty and turning into hopefully a temporary teenage exorcist....or a full blown personality disorder in the making.

Be careful when jumping to conclusions aand/or believing teenage girls. Now I realise this advise can sound dangerous, but equally, if you have a girl hell bent on causing some trouble...believe me they know how to do it. It often begins with the 'trashing ' of the bedroom....and often it's the kid that does it.

Don't get me wrong, abuse certainly takes place, and isn't to be ignored, but there are also a lot of 'street wise' kids these days who would happily throw their parents under the bus for a laugh or something they can post on facebook. There are huge blogs etc twitter accounts all doing it. If you are on twitter type in 'cutter' suicide' or 'I hate my parents'......you will not believe what you read.

Just be careful when believing kids these days, but equally watch for signs of real trauma before you call anyone. I know as I work with safeguarding adults and kids.

Your daughters friend sounds very angry, but it's where does that anger come from.

    Hope things get better.

And if S'S are already involved, then there are issues being dealt with hopefully.
Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.

Good points Calico, I know from my own DD how badly I've been represented to teachers etc. It's a minefield.

Afternoon from hell at work today - someone came very close to having a large tub of hot water and cutlery lobbed at them, thankfully I managed to keep my cool. One of the trainees decided to screech at me saying that they were out of cutlery and couldn't I move a bit quicker, I had been clearing tables and had only just walked around to the dishwasher. She kept on and on whilst I tried to balance this tub of hot water containing the cutlery on the edge of the sink whilst fishing out the cutlery with my other hand (it all has to be pre-soaked before going in the dishwasher). I just got on with my work and ignored her - she must have known that she had said something out of turn because she sidled up to me a bit later to see if we were ok.

After the girl's shift had finished and before mine finished I asked my supervisor if I was doing ok and she asked me why I was asking so I told her. She knows that I haven't been there that long and I am still getting used to everything - she thinks I am doing a wonderful job and told me that I am not the first person to have mentioned being screeched at and spoken to harshly. A complaint is going into the manager. It seems likely that my probation will be confirmed that the screeching harridan's won't be.

I also saw the store manager today, he is lovely and he tipped me off about some musical xmas tree shaped biscuit tins being reduced to a fiver tomorrow. He asked if I had my discount card, I confirmed that I had, I told him about my friend wanting turkey so he told me that if she wanted me to buy a turkey crown and the trimmings to get it this week because I won't have time in the 3 days before Crimble.

Found some points on my Boots card so promptly spent them on a small tube of gardeners hand cream which I will wrap up in a scrap of paper and put them in my xmas box under the tree. I like to have a little box containing a few treats that I can open each day over the break.

I do hope that it doesn't snow tomorrow - it has been forecast:(

Horace - I'm really pleased everything is going ok, it sounds so daft it beggers belief how people leave their mess, maybe McDs etc but M+S you should get a better class of person....

Regardless of where I am, I always straighten up my plates, if I get chance before there all cleared, I scrap everything to one and stack up. I would never dream of putting crusts in coffee cups etc. xx

I hope you don't get snow Horace. I checked the met office hourly forecast last night, and it said my town would have 4 hours of heavy snow through the night, I got up 15 minutes early to have time to clear the paths. Not a flake, not a single flake! Sometimes I wonder why I keep checking the forecast, but I can't help myself! Do they ever explain how they got it wrong?

Not that I'm complaining mind, I'm very pleased there's no snow, today is hospital day so need to go out.

I never imagined working in M & S would be so stressful, I don't know what is in peoples minds to make such a mess at the table, would they put food in the coffee cups in their own homes?

If you could live one day of your life over again, which day would you choose?

My small son calls it the weather guess ellie99 rather than the weather forecast.
