Well, now I have C pretty much sorted, I find I can relax and look forward to thinking of lots of treats for ME
...well worth sorting C early, and getting it off my to do or even to think list. :rotfl:Just working my way through my freezer so I can defrost it and stock up with goodies early December. :T
Actually, I really must stop thinking of my stomach....my wee diet bit the dust before I'd managed to even start it. I blame the unseasonal weather, anything rather than myself :rotfl:I wake up thinking of eating today and go to sleep thinking of eating tomorrow. I need to get a grip!
BUT JKS, honestly, how would you fill your time if you didn't work, eh? Hospital visits for work related incidents  would also reduce, freeing up even more time. You'd hate it...you know you would....
I just want to be able to retire with loadsa pension money at 50...hmmm....not going to happen at any age, methinks. And we won £2 on scratch cards in our lottery syndicate...between 10 of us....:o. I'd come out of the syndicate but that would guarantee my colleagues a huge win, so I will stay in to the bitter end, even though it's costing me money.
Is it Friday yet?

Just popping to say Hi.....!!
Still here, just been so busy with RL.
Got back from Birmingham last night...had a good weekend. Down in Durham tonight, the off to London tomorrow morning. I'm knackered, thank god I have a couple of days when I get back to chill before the vile 4 shifts at work.
I haven't got a thing for Xmas yet....might find some things in London if I get time to shop......mother has a full on itinerary drawn up.......... so far....not one bit on it includes a fab restaurant . I may need to trip her up so she falls into one. I suggested booking the Ivy...which fell on deaf ears.....:(.
It is entirely possible I may need therapy after this trip....we have been arguing already about what to do when......:rotfl:
Lord give me strength....
Hope all are well. I have no hope of catching up with all that's been going on, so will get back into it when I get home and sorted.Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.0 -

Hello peeps
I had my mock interview and was told that I do not sell myself enough, however, I did well in the role play and ticked all but one of the boxes for the interview. The cowbags refused to let me know at the time so I have had to wait to see if I will be put forward for the actual MnS interview.
I was dressed to the nines - finding a dress in the wardrobe that I bought and never really wore, it looks smart and hides the podge. I teamed it with grey tights (there are splodges of grey in the dress) and a black jacket (there is a black and white pattern on the dress) and my black winter boots (I wear them when I am standing at bus stops) and my lime green mac. They didn't let me out of the interview until 3.15pm (I got there for 1.30pm) and then I had to race home on the bus - ditch the jacket and mac and swap for a fleecy jacket, headed to the supermarket and stocked up - 2 packs of gluten free biccies were bought too and served at the meeting I had at mine at 6.30pm.
Today has been a day of racing about - I went to the Register Office to get a replacement birth certificate and used the £25 the work programme peeps gave me. On the bus home, I had a phone call from a delivery driver saying that he wanted to deliver 420 saplings, 2 boxes of guards and a bag of stakes, I asked him to drop them in the entry. Got home, had some lunch decided to water the borrowed plants so went to open the side entry door and the handle snapped (not pleased at all as the door is about 3 months old). Plants not watered.
I had to go back out to see the work programme advisor (I was 5 mins late because I missed the bus), I gave them my receipt, stood over them whilst they made a copy of my birth certificate for MnS. I was then told that I had been put forward for interview:j I was reminded to sell myself and that will drummed into me constantly. My advisor told me it was her last day today as she was transferring to a different branch (I have to email her when I get in at Marks) and she told me that the tutor on the course last week ranked me as the best for customer service out of all the clients she had ever taught (insert big head here).
Tomorrow I have the Lord Mayor's reception to go to.
My house looks like a bomb has hit it - the kitchen especially.0 -
Horace Great news re the interview. Hope that you enjoy the Lord Mayor's reception tomorrow.A good life is when you assume nothing, do more, need less, smile often, dream big, laugh a lot, and realise how blessed you are.

Thanks 3forhols - I am taking one of our volunteers with me and although I was content to go by bus, she is going to drive us both in (the Friends will pay for parking and give a bit towards petrol). I will note it down in the accounts. Pity I am not in London meeting Boris, the one we have in Brum is obsequious to say the least.
I rang the chap that fitted the door and he is coming round tomorrow to replace the door handle - looking at it, it looks like it was made from cheese so it was probably a faulty manufacture.
I need to clean my kitchen too it is a tip. Felt a bit meh tonight, so didn't have a proper dinner and have spent most of the time dozing on the sofa but woke up enough to watch C4 You Can't Get the Staff which is quite funny. I will have to see if the rest of the series is on catch up because I only found out about the programme last Thursday.0 -

Sadly not yet Friday LB
I think I could find lots to do if I didn't have to work - I must have at least a gazillion books (must stop buying them), & I'd like to get into sewing again & just pottering....
I'm with you on the distinct lack of pension funds though - had my annual statement & its just laughable. That's the problem with working in a low paid job - even if you do end up paying in for years it isn't going to make a huge difference. I'm only paying in just over £45 pcm since my wage & hours are so low :rotfl:Hope everyone ok.

I've managed to get some gifts for the parcel I need to send overseas - writing the long letter is the bit that takes me ages, & then getting to the post office so I'm usually right on the last posting day.
Still not wanting to think about anything else C. Mum2one you have truly put me to shame  but as I'm alone for C I think I'll get away with not doing an awful lot.
Horace - fab news about the interview & hope the reception is fun.
Nice to hear from you Calicocat & hope the trip goes well, especially the nice restaurant - good luck with that.
Life continues to be interesting (I'm trying not to say carp as its too negative according to an annoyingly smug acquaintance who never seems to have anything go wrong in her life).
DD is really taking the vile teenager part to heart & excelling at it. But not excelling at school sadly - almost every teacher has complained to me about her work/attitude/uniform although I don't know what they'd like me to do about it since she doesn't listen to a word I say. I guess all teens go through the hideously selfish stage, but I didn't expect it to be so horrible
DS is taking lessons from her & being stroppy - puberty is just starting to kick in so its hilarious in our house at the moment. I keep telling myself it will get better.....
Work is getting worse - we'll be down a f/t member of staff from next week & we've been short of hours for months so I really dread to think what will happen. This f/timer does a lot of work that the rest of don't do (ordering supplies, scheduling work etc), so I expect it will all fall apart very quickly. I feel dreadful saying it but at least something will have to happen now since we physically cannot carry on with the same workload.
Hugs to all - I should be doing chores on my day off, but I can't find my motivation. Where should I start looking for it?& as for some happy ending I'd rather stay single & thin

Under that pile of cr&p that needs shifting from your life. Sorry to hear things are still very tough for you. Dodgy hugs on their way down the net... :grouphug:
Those of us who have decided or are forced to spend C day on our own should come online and party _party_
I think I'm going to spend that week in my PJs pottering.:rotfl:0 -
JKS - i have to confess, I'm trying to be more organised, in case next batch of news not good...
As for teenage hormones - do you want to borrow DD, sinces she 12, its a mini stress, kids...
Another trip to hosp, no 2 of 3 for this week, the blood transfusion went ok, I fell asleep.... I couldnt sit on the "visitor chairs" my back wouldnt let me sit there for 4 hrs i did feel rotten this morning, could have done with a duvet day...
Theres something in the pipeline -- shall we say we've opened a bees nest...someone will get stung... (not us) sorry its a cryptic one, my hands are tied at the mo.

Laughed at that stirring up a hornets nest reference....that's more usually my thing, ie things going along peacefully (and immorally/illegally/whatever) and then I come along and stir up the hornets nest and . Mind you, it can be a bit nerve-racking thinking "Oh dear they wanted to carry right on in there being immoral/illegal/delete as applicable and they know its me that stuck a bomb under that...._pale_". Hopefully you're not feeling nervous about possible retribution? but then its maybe a totally different scenario to my hornets nests I've kicked over in my time:rotfl:
Do let us know when things are resolved on that...you've got me intrigued now.0
