Horace - sorry that your day has been so difficult. Hope you have a better time tomorrow

JKS - I read your thread about the card payment but have no useful suggestion to offer as to what could have happened! Hope you can get it resolved satisfactorily though

Yes its weird, & the more people who look at me as if I'm stupid, then more stubborn it makes me to prove that I'm not wrong. I just wish it wasn't something else that I needed to sort out - I've more than enough sorting out to last me the rest of my life without having new stuff :rotfl:
    Don't worry about it Horace.

Personally, if someone does that, ie treat me like I'm thick, then I will either retaliate with the proof that actually I am very far from:rotfl: on the one hand....

    OR

sit back and think "You just made a mistake there to underestimate me. Suit yourself........" and then sit back and wait for them to realise gradually (ie over coming months or years) that they got that very wrong indeed and I've managed to prove the point to them over time Big Time.

I haven't forgotten a previous employer that decided to regard me as being "none too bright" as they regarded other members of the grade I was in (rightly or wrongly) and I just sat back and thought "I am so going to prove I'm not the grade of the job I am in to you...and you will wish you hadn't underestimated me". It took some time....but they learnt eventually that I was nothing remotely like the grade of the (low level) job I was in and they should have realised that in the first place...rather than sitting there "rubbing their sore heads" some time later, as I had proved my point....

    **************

Anyways, on a very different topic I've been out today helping to pick out Mother of the Bride clothes with a friend and duly feel quite satisfied at having done my best to be encouraging and help pick out exactly what would be the right thing to suit my friend best. Yep...shop assistant and I both in full agreement as to what we thought would be right.

Sublime to ridiculous bit was then sorting out re job workmen will be doing here soon to make quite quite sure that it will be done Exactly Right...ie so there will be no future problems with neighbours caused by me not being "as I oughter". Grins at thought of being "whiter than white" myself in that respect, and will throw resultant "halo" at the troublesome neighbour I've got in another direction .....ahem.....

Oh MSTM - I wish I could employ you sit back position, but my gob tends to flap when I'm in that kind of situation :rotfl: I think the sit back position would probably work a lot better for me.

I really hope you get your neighbour issues sorted out at some point - it must be wearing for you. I did briefly wonder if you'd moved next door to my mother as she has always fallen out with every neighbour she's had (& every friend/family member) but she assures me that her neighbours are all families - so that gives her far more people to moan about :rotfl: She also uses that phrase "as you oughter" usually about people who have behaved perfectly normally in my eyes, but outrageously in her eyes.

Thanks Money - I know that I am better than Miss Sarky Pants and she has underestimated me.

Feeling strung out at the mo - just had the events chap email me with a whole list of things that must be done and him shouting at me in his email. I have reminded him that we have a committee meeting next week and it can be discussed then. He is too keen and running off half cocked without any discussions being had with the rest of the committee. There are times when I regret that he came on board. He forgets that I am also an events person and I like to do things properly and if that means following certain procedures then I will. I am having to rein him in.

I have had a further look for my documentation but can't find it - so I will have to look again tomorrow as there is another place that I haven't searched. I have found out that it will cost me £65 to get a copy of my decree absolute (I do not have the case number) and it will be about £10 for a copy of my full birth certificate. I can do without the expense.

I have done some homework tonight but I am not spending all my free time searching the MnS website for everything I need to know about them. I will do a bit more tomorrow.

Horace - do you not have any other paperwork regarding your divorce that you can get your case number from? My number is on my solicitors letters, decree nisi, pension sharing annex etc. I'm sure you've already thought of that though.... That's a whopping fee for something that probably wont take too long for the court to find

Good luck with Mr. Keen & the homework. I have to tackle some homework with DD later which will be fun :rotfl:
& as for some happy ending I'd rather stay single & thin :D

Hi JKS = nope...Neighbour From Hell quite definitely isn't your mother I can assure you of that much. I only wish she was...as you might (just) be able to talk some sense to her...well....possibly...maybe.....yeh right...and then I will wake up in a minute...

Meanwhile...I'm still busily coining names for my own particular "neighbour from hell". To date I think the tally boils down to MISS x (using another neighbours name for her and making sure I include the hiss she uses on pronouncing that), Poison Dwarf, Little Sod, NFH, that b*tch/The THIEF. All further suggestions for names for her welcome:rotfl:

She has "cost" me about 4 hours worth of (unpaid) work this morning on dealing with the little b*rsteward. I am seriously unhappy with just how much of my time and energy is having to be devoted to dealing with her, ie rather than getting on with My Life.

My "gob does flap" sometimes and I have told Poison Dwarf JUST what I think of her on a recent occasion, ie before Ice Set In and I refuse pointblank to have anything further to do with her if I can possibly help it. I'm basically into trying to pretend I don't even have to share the same Planet with someone-like-that these days and steer very very well clear of her as far as I can. A lot of the time I get upset at having "someone like that" living so close to me and impacting on me, but I am trying to up the ratio to just totally "blanking the fact a Thief lives near me" as far as I can, apart from taking relevant security precautions.

Obviously, when you know someone-like-that is living nearby then you up your security precautions, because you don't know what else they might take a fancy to stealing besides a bit of your garden. So, my security precautions are getting pretty "tight" these days just in case. I've seen a couple of little mini-incidents happening that may or may not be her out being vengeful that I haven't just laid down and got walked over. I hoped I was imagining it...until a couple of my friends started describing her as "vengeful"...at which point I gulped and thought "They may be right...I do hope they aren't".

    Oh well....c'est la vie...

    Hello peeps

I conducted the divorce myself - I will have to ring ex hubby and get the case number from him. I no longer have any paperwork regarding the divorce. Pressure is being applied by the training people to provide it and I told them today how much it will cost and asked them to pay because I just don't have £65 to spare and I am sure as hell not breaking into my meagre savings to pay it. If they don't like my proof of ID then stuff 'em. I shall be providing a letter from the HMRC about my unique tax reference number and my P60 and my bank details.

Miss Sarky Pants got her comeuppance today because once again I was treated as though I was thick so I played that part well until it came to the role play that we have to do when we attend the interview and I played an absolute blinder. I remembered to offer assistance to the customer, let them browse, show them to where certain items were, gave advice on colours etc and I offered the loyalty card and remembered the returns policy. She just sat there open-mouthed.

Again we were sitting in the dark all day and because she is a gutless wonder too, I was sent to ask the centre manager when the lighting was due to be fixed and I even offered to ring his head office to chivvy them along because it wasn't only a matter of health & safety but it also wasn't conducive to learning. I will be submitting a formal complaint.

Fell asleep on the sofa after dinner - my snoring woke me up:o

:rotfl: I know what you mean - on dark winter nights, if I do anything other than feed the pusses, nuke my pre-prepared dinner, wash up, make my work lunch, and go to bed, I feel like I've had a bit of a life. :rotfl:

On Wednesday evening, I made Scotch broth and fresh bread. Whoo hoo! :rotfl:

Anyway, tis Friday at last, and a weekend of being a scrubber lies in store. If it doesn't have fur or feathers , it's getting scrubbed :rotfl:

I always scrub the house when I have problems to resolve. Hoping there will be some good programs on the radio to keep me company and entertained.

And once the scrubbing is complete, I intend to scrub the henhouse, and then do some cooking.

Partying?....Nah...giving it a miss this weekend, for a change :rotfl:

Whatever you're all doing with your weekends, enjoy!

    LB xx

Errrrm....don't suppose you fancy a weekend in Wales do you? - as I definitely don't react to problems that way. Problems in my life result in much googling for ways to solve them asap and even yer everyday level of housework goes right by the board whilst I try and resolve said problems.

Errrm...right now...result of that being = I'm pretty well-informed:) and the house is filthy:(

    Anyways...Happy Halloween/aka Solstice everyone.

Oh, I'm pretty well informed, and my house will be clean too :rotfl:

But generally, it's when I have problems that affect my emotions. I need to work them out by scrubbing.

What can I say? Strange or what :rotfl:
  • Me too LB. If I scrub, clean and tidy I feel in control and therefore I feel more in control of my emotions and seem to function better

I'm glad I'm not the only one who cleans to 'cleanse' myself! :o

    Have a good weekend everyone.

    Yes, that's exactly it! :T

And the physical exercise soothes me.

And I get a clean house to live in, which helps me emotionally too.

    Win win win :T

So glad someone else gets it. Maybe not so strange after all :rotfl:.

    Hello peeps

Today was the last day of training with a mock interview on Monday (depending on the results of that and the role play, I will be forwarded to MnS for a proper interview). My tutor was reduced to tears today by a vile woman who has been on the course. This woman doesn't listen and when she feels that we are not listening to her, she shouts and screams (like an overweight toddler having a tantrum). Today was the last straw - she has left the room to speak to a money advisor and came back in and we were working on some questions and because we had already completed one task and were part way through this other one she was told to get on with the first task. One chap said he would photocopy the questions for the second task for her (we are kind like that and help each other out). That caused more shouting and then she refused to leave the room because the rest of us sais we couldn't concentrate - in the end I lost my rag and left the room myself and took myself somewhere quiet to think and finish my work.

When I had finished, I went back and she wasn't there but she came storming back in to fetch her handbag and said she was leaving but left her coat. This vile woman came back and started again about us bullying her and how she was always singled out so I said that she should keep her ears open and her mouth closed because we had all tried to help but she refused to listen. Anyway she was booted out - they should have done that at the beginning of the week and all of us mentioned that in our feedback because we all felt that we could have learnt a lot more if it wasn't for her. My tutor has already recommended me for a job with MnS and has even suggested that in future I apply for a managerial role. She apologised for being dismissive of me on Tuesday too (she was under pressure dealing with the screecher).

I still haven't found my birth certificate so the work programme people are going to pay for me to get a full replacement to the tune of £25 so when I have my mock interview on Monday afternoon I can go on Tuesday to the Register Office to get a copy and take it in when I see my advisor on Tuesday. Can't go Monday because I have an appointment regarding the park which cannot be cancelled.

I signed on early today too - I arranged it yesterday and turned up for my allotted new time but wasn't seen so I had to gee them up a bit, in the end I was signed on by the supervisor who did not have access to the computer, I hope that it has been entered onto the system because I will be in a pickle if he hasn't.

The alarm man is coming tomorrow - I need to be up and at 'em early, need to tidy my bedroom (the main alarm box is in the bedroom cupboard), I also need to wash up etc. Not had the energy this week (too drained by vile screeching woman).

I need to scrub the house from top to bottom too. What's the betting that after I get a replacement birth certificate that I find the original one?

    Have a great weekend peeps.
