Horace - That sounds amazing news about M+S, sounds so positive, thats brill news about them paying the cost of the replacement birth certificate, sounds daft but I wouldn't know where mine is, thou know mum has it somewhere safe...
A bit of an update....
My friend who lost her hubby, had a quick chat via f/b, she seems to be holding up, but as she said its not now its after the funeral, thats on 11th Nov, really nice as he served 22 yrs in the RAF, church, crem then refreshments, about 90min drive, doubt there be a loo at the church, but theres a pub about 10mins from them, so will stop enroute...
Shes having a kitten, in 3 weeks been rescued by the RSPCA.
The drink - sods law or my luck, didnt get chance, saw him Thurs a quick hi, as he was working and i'd got mum, dad, dd - she thinks he's funny, was a quick catch you later, swop numbers then, but i missed him.... did say be back up couple of weeks, so see what happens... its good in a way as he knows whats going on with dad, more from the point of view that I'm running here, there and everywhere. x
Dads had his next set of appointments, he now has date fo his CT scan, (fingers crossed all be ok, this is the important one) then follow up week later with the oncologist,xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Morning all
I took the cake I made the other evening with me to some friends last night for pudding. It turned out ok (phew) and well down well with them.
I'm another one that will often clean/organise in order to think/de-stress/whatever. Even if I only do a corner or room rather than the whole house - it does seem to help.
I'm off to see a comedian in town tonight (busy weekend for me!) and so just having a couple of :coffee: before I get my jobs done. The more I do today - the less I have to do tomorrow and I can chill!
Have a good day0 -
Hello peeps
The alarm man has been and gone - it all works ok but it would appear that the light no longer flashes on the box and it might be worth getting a new box (anyway neither of us could see as the sun was shining on it). I did not ask about cost but I presume that it would be covered in the annual fee that mum pays.
I have always kept my own birth certificate. I have a horrid feeling that I have gotten rid of the decree nisi too (or if I had to send that to get the absolute). It is good news about the work programme plus they offered to buy me some interview clothes but I think I have a good selection in the wardrobe (I plan to wear a dress with a jacket to hide my arms (it is a short sleeve dress). I know they will allow you to buy clothes from Matalan or George at Asda.
It is a glorious day today - waiting for the lawn to dry out before I mow it. Need to sort out dinner and bake a cake or even fairy cakes (I refuse to call them cupcakes!). Pity I haven't got an unwaxed lemon because I could have made some skinny lemon cakes because I have a pot of natural yoghurt that needs using up (does live yoghurt go off? I bought a pot from the whoopsie shelf).

Glad you had a good time last night, BW
I'm still :scrubbing :rotfl:. Gawd, I uncovered some filth down the back of the TD yesterday. The vent tube thingy had come out of the wall, probably a few months ago, and I really couldn't be bothered with the upheaval to the very badly designed kitchen that is needed to resolve it.
But I got to it yesterday, and am glad I did....ugh....spiders (one HUUUUUUUUUUUGGGGEEEE , a few smaller), a slug and a snail, had found there way in. And the dust/dirt was just horrible.
But my kitchen is all sparkly now. Got a few more chores to do, then will scrub the henhouse while I'm in scrubbing mode, and then a bit more cooking, I think.
Gorgeous day here at the mo. Beautiful

And the physical exercise soothes me.
And I get a clean house to live in, which helps me emotionally too.
Win win win :T
So glad someone else gets it. Maybe not so strange after all :rotfl:.

I wish I could do this too, but when I'm stressed I tend to create more mess looking for stuff, or trying to sort out other stuff & then get distracted - I'd love to be able to clean my way into a solution.
My friend used to have baking frenzies when she was troubled by something. Cakes all round :rotfl:Morning!

Glad you had a lovely evening BW. Kids & I went to a bonfire & firework display which was fantastic, followed by chips on the way home. Bliss.
I'm starting to get that Sunday feeling already - have homework that needs sorting for DD (who is in a vile mood as she doesn't want to go back to school), planning sandwiches, ironing pile needs tackling for work.... why can't I be on holiday for ever?
Hope all are doing well.& as for some happy ending I'd rather stay single & thin

Hello peeps
Some housework done today but not all - also washed my hair ready for my mock interview tomorrow plus I have planned what I am going to wear and those clothes are hanging on the cheval mirror.
Made spag bol for dinner - using cheapo tinned toms, a couple of small onions (the bag cost me about a quid if that) and my whoopsie shelf mince and store cupboard items.
Went out this morning over to the park - had a chat with the police about some eejits with a quad bike. I tried to tackle them myself but I was outnumbered - the police didn't turn up at all but the call was made at least. The ground is as boggy as anything so when I go out tomorrow it will be a case of the wellies going on (must check them for spiders etc as they live in the side entry by the back door).
Met up with some kite fliers in the park - wanted to make sure they were ok (I knew they were going to be there) but this time I did not ask to fly a kite. One kite was flying at 500ft when the police helicopter came over - he seemed to fly awfully close to it but then the CAA have agreed a ceiling height of 500ft and all pilots are aware. Came home, did a bit of tidying, had a late lunch (cupboards are bare - barely any fresh milk, no bread, barely any coffee). I plan to do a bit of shopping tomorrow - I will buy milk and coffee on expenses because I provide enough of it for the Friends group meetings and to be honest I don't think it fair that I provide drinks etc from my own store without any recompense. I have a committee meeting tomorrow night - I might even get some gluten free biscuits because I can't be bothered to bake a cake.
Hope you have had a good weekend? Have a great day tomorrow,:)0 -

Hope all goes well Mum2one - will be thinking of you.
I'm still in denial about the C word, but well done on the cakes.
Horace - good luck for the interview :T
Back to the salt mine today - DD & DS took forever to get up & have gone off to school in a right grump :rotfl:. Just having a last cup of tea then I'll be off, trying not to grump.....
I could so enjoy never working again & just staying at home
Have a good day all.& as for some happy ending I'd rather stay single & thin
