Thanks Calico, also for the compliment
It's funny, because my motivation for wanting to draw, is to draw a picture of my beloved Bess. Good to hear Asbo only needs 2 circles, I might just manage it...:D0 -

You do have lovely skin Byatt, seriously you do, take it from someone who worked in it and knows.
All drawings of cats are two circles.....different angles, and the odd bit of other stuff....ears..leg poking out.
You are onto a winner here with circles and cats, I shall commission you for a sketch of Asbo.Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.0 -
Well, I think I have the most content sweet-baby-cat in the world :heartpuls.
Tummy huge with roast chicken (possibly needs 3 circles to draw her including her tummy so a bit advanced, perhaps? :rotfl:)and now big bath time.
Have been browsing the website/facebook pages for the refuge I got her from. So many cats and kittens desperate for homes
I'm off to say goodnight to the girls - they have "volunteered" their eggs for sale for the next few weeks to help contribute to my good cause. Hopefully, I'll make a few sales at work.

Hmmm...have tried the nettle conditioner and haven't got too far with it...because it does seem to take an awful lotta nettles to make it...must try harder and will maybe give it another go at some point...
Anyways...fwiw....I have kept two of the several books I got on the subject of hair thickness problems and must must must get my act together to try them out a bit more. Fwiw they are:
The Modern Rapunzel - natural secrets for ending hair loss by Jeanne Power
and
The Truth About Women's Hair Loss by Spencer David Kobren
They are both American books. Wonders visibly if British women dont suffer this problem much (judging by the dearth of British books on this)?? Anyways, I will get my act together and actually get into these books and start trying out what they say (only !!! months after getting them).
Added to the: I will get my health and/or looks sorted out in other respects AND I will get this house as finished as money currently allows AND I will get on with The Lifestyle I have been waiting/planning for for I've lost count of just-how-many-years...
and I'll emerge some time in xxx years time with everything all sorted and together:rotfl:
Nevair mind...a phone conversation today brought about a bit of a "revelation" as I came straight out with a comment in Welsh and both I and person-at-other-end obviously noted and inwardly digested. And I did roll my tongue all proper like with the appropriate accent whilst I said it:). Well....I might just learn this language one o' these days and learn to adapt to New Area...there's some hope on the horizon I guess of that...:rotfl:0 -
Nice to see what everyone else has been up to the last couple of days. Not much here by comparison but some progress. I'm going on holiday in a few weeks so decided to check mine was still where I expected it to be. I ended up having to empty the whole security box and sift through the contents to find it (it was right at the bottom). Another bad habit of mine is tending to just stuff paperwork in there so I guess this is the result. It did give me the opportunity to sort through the mess and dispose of a whole lot of paperwork that is no longer required. I'd been putting this off for quite some time so it was good to be forced into it. I will have to go through it again soon as I suspect some more of it could go.
Bed linen was laundered this morning - I must make this at least a fortnightly occurrence. Floors were all swept too which is another thing I've been meaning to get around to.
My parents are away this weekend so I went over to theirs and left a card for my dad and a bottle of one of his favourite alcoholic beverages so that will be waiting for them when they get back tomorrow.
I was going to actually cook something this evening but I wimped out and had a microwaved meal instead. OK in a pinch but I couldn't imagine living on them, they're not even very filling.if_at_first... wrote: »If you really don't see this career path going anywhere maybe it is time to look at other options. Could you retrain for something else, or is it the place you work you don't like so much?
Thinking about this especially as it's back to the office for me tomorrow. There is actually a career path from my level of post but I've applied for promotion many times and failed despite being told I'd be capable of the higher level work and being given coaching through the process. I'm coming to the conclusion it's not going to work for me, and I don't know what will happen next time there's a rotation exercise and I can only move sideways once again. Re-training is something I'll have to look at, it will involve broadening my mental horizons a bit. I'm not naive enough to expect to coast along for the rest of my days in the same organisation. Maybe a bit of personal brainstorming is in order.
3forholidays - welcome, I'm also from Scotland (perhaps you could guess). Feel to jump in!

Well I've been lurking around for many months enjoying all your stories of chickens, cats, snails & slugs and everything else so I thought it would be extremely rude of me not to drop in and say 'Hello!':hello:
I unexpectedly found myself single again after discovering my husband's affair with his work colleague just over a year ago.
I stumbled across this thread while looking for tips to cut my household spending as I was finding it a struggle to adjust financially to suddenly relying on one wage. There were many times when reading this thread brought a smile to my face on a difficult day, thank you!
I live on my own (no kids) but share my life with two feline companions. One is ten and acts as if I should be honoured to go out every day and earn money to keep her in the lifestyle she has become accustomed too. She really is a cantankerous old thing, but we've been through a lot together - I keep telling her we should be grateful to have each other as no one else will put up with us! The other is 9 months old and an utter sweetheart - affectionate, laid back and full of fun.
Looking forward to getting to know you all better and actually contributing rather than hiding in the background!0 -
Moneyistooshorttomention green cabbage is nice stir fried with thinly sliced garlic and red chilli as a side dish.0

Hello Catwhisker :j
Love the name...naturally! :T. Sounds like you've been through a tough time recently. Hope you are doing ok, and I'm glad we've managed to help you in a small way. A bit of company is a good thing at a tough time. I can well recommend a kitten for bringing a smile to the day. :T
Well, my big diet started yesterday (again:rotfl:) and with promises of sponsorship, I'm feeling very motivated. I also have sold my eggs for the next 3 weeks for the charity, and a huge bunch of rhubarb, so all in all I am beginning to feel more positive again, and less down.
Apart from that, am just plodding on...nothing exciting, but my bank balance probably couldn't take exciting . Payday is so far away....
Have a lovely Tuesday, Everyone
LB xx
Ps my leeks in butter and garlic were disgusting, and ended up in the bin!0 -
Hi Catwhisker. Welcome to the madhouse. My black and white boy had a good hunting day yesterday. He was so proud of himself as he took me to the front bedroom to show me his latest catch ... a soggy piece of pond weed! He spends hours in the garden guarding the pond (which sounds grand but is only half a plastic barrel sunk in the ground - put in for the birds to drink/bathe). Still, I'd rather have pond weed than dead (or live!) critters!
Weighed myself this morning. Eek! Where did the extra weight come from?! Will have to join LavenderBees on the eating regime. I put on weight when I was separating from my ex, lost it (well, most of it!), but have now put it all back on again. It has to go. I blame the B&J caramel ice cream that has been on offer recently ... Trouble is, I bought more at the weekend and I don't want it to go off ...
Our self-appointed office supervisor came back from her holiday yesterday. Does anyone understand why, when we are supposed to be working as a team, she spent the first hour and a half trying to find fault with what we had done last week? And, was it wrong of us (the other two), to be just a little bit happy that she couldn't find anything - even though last week had been manic?
When is the holiday Byatt? Hopefully the car won't be too expensive so won't eat into your holiday funds too much. I'm looking forward to hearing about your Italian adventures, with sketchbook to record the experience for posterity.
Hope the fluffy butts are staying happy and that Bluebelle hasn't tried nesting again.
Well, off to prepare for another day at the coalface.

Morning everyone. Soz for being MIA for a few days.
I am finally on my week off :j I left straight after work on Friday for a few days visiting my folks. Got back late last night. Planning on having the rest of the week at home. :j (I really am excited about itcan you tell :rotfl:)
Had a great weekend. Very chilled and one or two unexpected but lovely surprises. I even won a competition  As Sunday was fathers day I was planning on taking my Dad to see the British Superbike racing over at Snetterton. We agreed it would be weather permitting so was planning on paying on the gate rather than in advance. I then won a comp on Twitter for 3 free tickets!! That meant I saved £64 for the tickets and I even sold the third one for a tenner so technically I was in profit :T not bad eh? Also the company that ran the comp - gave us free hospitality for the day as well (which we were not expecting!).
Looking forward to pottering around and generally having a very easy day and enjoying no work (for a change!)
Seems to have been loads going on here I see so off for a catch up.
Welcome to the newbies
