    Happy Day! :p

Yes, my Girls were much happier this afternoon. All morning, fearful, and jumpy, then about 2pm, they suddenly shook themselves, got up, ate, drank, and started to properly explore like proper chicks. :D. It's almost like they had a light bulb moment at the same time and decided that Cluckingham Palace isn't so bad after all...;)

They even met a friendly cat and lots of dogs (through the fence, thank goodness), and didn't seem too fazed, but I'm glad I was there to supervise/dive in and save them if necessary. :rotfl:

I've had a lovely afternoon and evening watching them explore, and tonight, went to check to see if they had sussed they need to get into the henhouse before the door closes. Coco, clever girl, was in and roosting quietly (she pecked me when I stroked her :rotfl:), but Bluebelle, drama queen, was flapping around looking for somewhere to roost so she had a panic until she found the henhouse...the pophole closed 15 mins later, so I'm happy with that...my fear is they'll be locked outside.

So, I'll go in the morning, and see if they've sussed coming out of the henhouse...this morning, they clung on like grim death, really didn't want to come out. It'll be interesting to see if this afternoon's enjoyable experiences changes their mindset.

And then coming home, Village Cat, who was YBC's bestest pal when he was allowed out, came to visit. is still here, and I can hear the two of them romping around upstairs. YBC was overjoyed to see his pal. It's been a good 3 mths since he last visited, and they are such good pals :)

So, a rare, really lovely day for me. I hope you've all had days as good as this....not to everyone's taste, I'm sure, but perfect for me.

I promise to try to upload photos tomorrow...promise, promise...

Bedtime now. Sleep well, sweet dreams

    LB xx

    P.S. I can't pretend I like someone either...:o

P.P.S Don't tell Calico but I had lush roast chicken thighs tonight for supper

LB hope the girls had a good night and that you weren't up and down checking on them every half hour! :D

Byatt I've spent most of my life trying to keep everything on an even keel for everyone but me (because I was brought up to believe that I didn't matter). It's been a hard lesson but I've finally learned that you can only do or say so much then you have to take a step back and let them get on with it. Just let DD know that you will always be there for her, but if you are ever truly scared for her safety wade in there with both guns blazing!

On the gardening front, that is my one "unjustifiable expense". I have a gardener who comes roughly once a fortnight, mows the lawns, weeds and trims bushes (not as rude as it sounds :rotfl:). My theory being that as long as the outside looks ok nobody will suspect the level of mess and chaos inside ).

Rather annoyingly I've been awake since about half five when the upstairs smoke alarm started beeping, not because there's a fire but because the battery is going flat, and I can't get the darn thing open to take it out. DD and DS are still asleep otherwise I'd take a hammer to it! Might need to go downstairs and nap on the sofa.
  • Bluebell aka "dumb cluck" I guess and Coco is "clever clogs":rotfl:,

Looks like they are en route to forming a good working relationship there...:)

    :rotfl:I've been waiting "eggspectantly"...sorry...:o

Awww BW, thanks...yes, talking here helps rather than just mulling it over and over. You are all lovely to listen to me, :A

Mummybobble, we might be twins :A, I've thought that before from posts you've written.

I will be there for my DD if she needs me, but yes, standing back is best for me right now, I've not said anything to her either way, regarding DD, and I've not answered her numerous phone calls (usual stuff) this morning as I have tried to relax.

Weather looks lovely out and I should make the effort to at least potter in my courtyard garden. :)

Well the girls are lovely..!! Makes me want some hens, however I would end up a serial collector so just as well I 'may' not have room.......Hmmmm.

Bluebelle had a real good look in the mirror at one point, Coco I think will be a right character once she finds her feet more. They hadn't seen millet before but did start eating some as we were leaving. I collected some grass for them and LB broke up the cabbage as they haven't seen that before either.

The 'penthouse' is really cool and they are both getting the hang of getting in and out.

Anyhow, I won't say more as this is LB's news really, just wanted to share as it was so lovely. LB will be busy making soup no doubt.

I feel I am officially one of their 'aunties' and now they are in my head will be looking out for hen stuff now when i'm shopping.....which is all good, as I love shopping.

No egg as yet.......i'm going to guess easter friday at 9.12pm for first egg.
