I must admit I could have got the hump with my OH when his mum died as I wasn't given any of her jewellery - it went to all to his sister.

But in the grand scheme of things I still had (and still do) have my mum to talk to every day.....and I know which I'd prefer.

I think that you have been very pragmatic about this, because after all, why should your sister in law not have received the jewellery from her own mother?
We have a niece, who is so greedy, that she begrudges her father in law enjoying his own money, going on holidays abroad. For years he was not able to do this, as he had to care for his sick wife until she died.
The niece, sadly, ignores what he has been through and simply wants to profit from him after his death:(
  • Hubby is an only child, his Mum insists that I have her jewellery when she is no longer about. I don't see that I have any right to it and will hand it over to her two granddaughters when the time cones.
