Ooh reading these has made me realise I don't enter quite a lot for various reasons
Holidays for 2 - I have young children and nobody to leave them with so has to be family only
Spa days - my idea of hell
Meet and greet - too dull
Anything on Facebook
Anything on Instagram
Sports gear or souvenirs - not my thing
One night breaks unless close by
Meals/tickets/days out unless close by
Anything I don't want to keep or give as a gift, so don't enter for anything to sell it on.0 -
Even more that don't like spa days...so who is entering these...just me?? so WHY haven't I won in almost 3 years of trying!! lolThanks to all those fab compers who post:j:T0

Well c5ryl, that's two of us trying to win spa breaks and I have never won one either

I have stopped entering a lot of low value prize comps for the simple reason that it takes too much time; last year I entered over 15,000 comps and had 10 wins so I don't see the point in spending a lot of time trying to win bits here and there.
I set up a facebook account last year for two reasons only, first to contact Thomas Cook about messing up a holiday booking and secondly to join a particular group but I now use it to enter holiday comps or occasionally computer equipment (haven't won anything from those yet)
Thanks to all those people who don't enter the holiday comps, just gives me that itsy bitsy more chance :-)
I also cut down on the number of postal and text comps two years ago when I realised i was spending around £800 on mags, papers, stamps, phone credit, now i just have a couple more holidays a year instead, much more enjoyable. You should check what you spend compared to what you win could be worth reassessing things.

Love this thread and makes me feel better now when I look back at a sea of red crosses with the odd green tick here and there.
When I first started comping I used to enter anything and everything but now I only enter comps for things I really really want - with the exception of my last win (nutritional supplements for a horse lol), but I was hoping for the grand prize of a professional photo shoot with your horse (for my daughter).
Anyway, comps I don't enter
Blu rays and DVDs unless its a film I really want to see (few and far between)
Books (same reason above)
"Family" holidays - the "child" places are invariably for children under 12 - my daughter is 15
Kids/Baby toys (same reason as above)
Wedding related prizes - invariably ask for wedding date/location - I'm uncomfortable lying. If it's for something I really want and you don't have to lie - I'm in
Tickets to gigs/theatre - travel usually means I'll never get there - too far or too expensive
Craft comps - I'm not arty
Mens stuff - need a man first (wonder if there's any comps to win a good one)
Any comp that requires me to make a video (no idea how to do it)
Any comp for chocs or sweets - I'm on a diet - might review this when back from my hols
iPods - I have one and never update that, they confuse me!2024 £72, 2023 £2230, 2022 £300, 2021 £1800, 2015 £3790, 2014 £44600 -
My phone was stolen recently so I specifically logged on this time to enter some smartphone competitions but I actually normally avoid these because of the number of people who enter them - I'd rather enter something I really want to win or have a better chance of winning.
Otherwise it is similar ones to those mentioned by other people - holidays for one, holidays without flights (unless I really want to go), Blu rays, baby or wedding related things. I also now tend to leave the Twitter ones as I entered loads for a while and didn't win anything whereas if I entered that many for small things (as they often are on Twitter) on websites I would expect to win a few.0
