I dont enter any adventure/ski-ing holiday comps, that is my idea of a nightmare, its sun loungers and cocktails for me all the way! I just got married in November so no more wedding competitions for me either, not that I won any anyway for the 2 years that I did enter them!!0

I was telling my hubby all the competitions I DON'T enter and why he had a good laugh at my reasons, and asked if there were any left to enter :rotfl:
So keeping it fun what DON'T you enter and why?
I don't enter holidays abroad (My panic attacks would never allow me to get on a plane, give me a weekend in Blackpool rather than a fortnight in America any day)
I don't enter for most clothes or shoes (I am more of a jeans and walking shoes kinda person, and if the heels are more than an inch I would probably set my neck)
I don't enter for baby items/toys (My "babies" are 19 and 23)
I don't enter for books (I blame my Kindle)
So which comps do you NOT enter and why
You sound like us! My OH wont step foot on a plane so that's a no-no to any foreign holiday comp. I enter family holidays in the UK but not one or two night ones - it just wouldn't be worth the hassle and expense.
Blu-ray... and even DVD comps I don't enter any more. No time to watch DVD's much.
knick-knacky things like keyrings, hats, tat that will be floating around the house for months on end.
Am also a jeans and boots kind of girl - I've started entering clothing voucher comps as my teenage daughter is getting more clothes conscious... but actual clothes comps, no. I'd probably get it wrong
Anything sports related. Or Red letter days.
I keep saying I'm going to stop entering book comps... the time thing again, but I just can't resist them.:staradminHuuuuuuge thank you hugs to all posters:staradmin0 -
Most Rafflecopters, just don't have enough time to do all of these once, let alone the daily tweets
Facebook L&S - None of these at all, don't want to risk getting my account suspended
Equestrian
Holidays where it's only for 2 people
CD's
Google+, Pintrest - Don't have them.
Pets
Sweets/Chocolates - Since Xmas, have too many left over and have become a bit lardy.
Am also thinking in order to reduce the amount of time I spend to stop doing cosmetics/hair stuff/perfume as I really think I'm at a disadvantage being a bloke, even though the missus would love some of the stuff.
Also wondering if twitter is worth it as currently on 5.8k tweets and no wins yet. Trouble is they are so easy to enter.0 -
facebook (pricancy issues), or anything with multiple follow requirements on twitter.. smacks of desparate marketing.Long time away from MSE, been dealing real life stuff..
Sometimes seen lurking on the compers forum :-)0 -
My quick list :
Meet & Greets - [STRIKE]unless there is[/STRIKE] not even if there is money involved. Only possible exceptions for Bill Shatner, Harrison Ford.
Trip to Space - I wouldn't want to come back
Weddings - I can't recommend it & my girls would prefer a debutante ball: big dress, big party, cake, jewelry, no husband :rotfl:
Foreign Holidays - trying to reduce my carbon footprint .
Tickets to ... Dancing on Ice or anything really - maybe, but only if there is money involved & it's not loud.
Anything on pinterest or instagram, or involving a photoshoot.0 -
I don't enter -
Rafflecopter, FB or Twitter comps
Holidays abroad which don't include flights, or flights only prizes. I couldn't afford to pay out any other costs if I won the prize
Holidays in the UK which are one night only, unless its fairly close by
Dinner/drinks etc only in eg London, Manchester etc
DVDs/CDs as I wouldn't use/watch them unless its a childrens film I can give away to my nieces and nephews
comps which require pictures or recipe suggestions
Golf/Sewing/Art type of things. I don't mind Football or Rugby
tickets to shows miles away
Normally I judge a comp on if its something I want/like or something I can give away to a friend or relative.:money::rotfl::T0 -
My quick list :
Meet & Greets - [STRIKE]unless there is[/STRIKE] not even if there is money involved. Only possible exceptions for Bill Shatner, Harrison Ford.
I agree on the Meet & Greet 100% I can't think of anything more awkward!
My list is..
Comps aimed at kids - Firstly i'm 22 and secondly i remember being 8 and winning a competition and being so happy so i'd hate to think i'm taking that away from a child!
Wedding Comps- I don't even have a boyfriend let alone a fiance, so i stay well clear haha!
Facebook like and shares- I don't like how spammy they are and those competitions don't actually follows the t&c's of fb- I don't want my account blocked!
Spa days- I know these are supposed to be relaxing but not for me i'm afraid!
Baby items used to be on my list as well but as i've got a few friends pregnant i've added them to my comping list as well!
I'm glad i've got quite a few that i don't enter, otherwise i'd be here 8 hours a day hah!£385/£2014
15/52 Prizes
2013-£17880 -
I don't enter for
childrens competition - I don't think it's fair on children if adults win (unless they are entering for their child)
Anything for events I am not interested in - I think they should go to a fan
A Tv - I was lucky enough to win a 42 inch tv so I dont need another
Anything on twitter - don't have it
Equestrian - don't have a horse
Pretty much anything I don't have a use for or someone who I know doesn't have a use for. I'd rather someone who needed/ wanted it wanted won
xxx:j First prizes back into comping after a break - romantic break to 2 to Venice/ Paris or Rome with romantic trip and a 42 inch TV and blu Ray amazing !
Thank you all so much and good luck guys and girls xxxxxx0 -
I don't enter for:
Anything that I don't want and/or don't know someone who would want it.
Holidays/breaks/getaways/nights away at the moment as 8 months pregnant and wouldn't get to use it or enjoy it, will start entering when I am able to go and enjoy them.
Meals for kind of the same reason as above, can't eat a lot at the moment so may as well go to someone who would enjoy it more.
Tickets to shows/gigs etc for the same reasons as above.
Meet & Greets, not my cup of tea
DVD's, unless it's either a boxset I would watch over and over or a DVD my daughter would enjoy.
Blu-rays unless it comes with a blu-ray player as only have a DVD player.
Any animal related items other than for cats as I only have cats.
Wedding comps as I'm already married (unless it states you can enter if you're not getting married and is something I or someone I know wants)
Facebook Likes and shares (unless I'm absolutely desperate for whatever is being given away), I did start to do these but then realised how spammy they are and how irritating it must be for my friends on facebook.
Anything to do ith any sport other than football or motor sports, not interested in them and I'd much rather they went to someone who likes the sport.
Knick-knack type items, things that would just end up lying around or cluttering, I only enter if I really want something or can happily give the prize to someone I know.
Seems a lot and yet I spend a lot of time entering comps each day, good job I filter some out then :rotfl:
