Which competitions DON'T you enter and why?

I was telling my hubby all the competitions I DON'T enter and why he had a good laugh at my reasons, and asked if there were any left to enter :rotfl:

So keeping it fun what DON'T you enter and why?

I don't enter holidays abroad (My panic attacks would never allow me to get on a plane, give me a weekend in Blackpool rather than a fortnight in America any day)

I don't enter for most clothes or shoes (I am more of a jeans and walking shoes kinda person, and if the heels are more than an inch I would probably set my neck) :eek:

I don't enter for baby items/toys (My "babies" are 19 and 23)

I don't enter for books (I blame my Kindle) :cool:

So which comps do you NOT enter and why

Don't enter for...

DVDs (unless something I want) - not a big fan of movies....

Over 50s/60s/GransNet - too young, and not a granny!

Mumsnet / mums' magazines / baby blogs and magazines - not a mummy

Wedding magazines - now, I read a post on here recently that said if the comp doesn't ask wedding date and it's for something generic (is not honeymoon / wedding dress etc) then non-brides/grooms to be do answer, so I probably will start answering some.

Books - I'm an English Lit PhD student, so plenty to read already. Also a lot of the giveaways are for self-published, badly written rubbish :rotfl:

Your post made me think of more things cos I am older and I am a granny (Proving the huge spectrum of this forum)

I don't enter for wedding items (been married almost 20 years)

I don't enter of Blu rays (cos we ain't got one) :rotfl:

I need to change that 0/2014 in my sig......How much is a Cushelle Koala worth? :rotfl:

spa says (won one - never been so bored in my life)
football stuff - we're a rugby family
theme park tickets - hate the places
non- all inclusive holidays (had to borrow off my inheritance to go on one last year - got injured, still in pain)

Single night hotel stays (unless local) by the time you've arrived there it's time to come home
adrenaline adventure type - I' m a coward & my dodgy hip rules most things out
Girls toys - my girl is mum to 2 boys

I could probably add all of those to my two lists above too

I don't think there can be much left to enter for....I think I will have to find a new pastime :eek:

single night hotel stays as not worth it and cant necessarily afford to extend the stay
theme park prizes
adrenaline type prizes
wedding prizes
spa days
gift experiences

Its more the type of comp i avoid rather than the prize.
I dont enter if

i have to send in a photo of me wearing X in order to win another X
in fact most photo/video ones
i have to do something longwinded on pinterest/instagram
i have to vote for someone

I don't enter for:

Blurays - don't have a player

Baby stuff - My girls are 13 and 10

Chocolate - I'm on a health kick for 2014

Tickets to events not close enough to home - it's too pricey to travel most of the time.

That's it I think, everything else is fair game

twitter comp - don't have twitter account and CBA to start one

most holidays - tend to be for families or couples and there's me, DP and grumpy teenage son - waiting for son to be old enough to leave behind and then might start entering

most tickets - tend to be for stuff I'm not interested in and too far away

DVDs I've never heard of

any books that are 'aimed' at women as it tends to be chick lit stuff- (I like thrillers and crime so will go for any aimed at men)

Will always double check any Jewellery/handbag comps - as i often think the prize is hideous, especially designer stuff

anything that wants a photo

most rafflecopters especially those with loads of options - eg first option is like on FB which gives you 1/25 as that's normally all I do!

most big appliances/furniture eg washing machine, freezers, beds - moved recently and have new ones already and some of the furniture i don't like

Actually it's surprising how many comps i open up and immediately think - 'ooh that's hideous' about the prize

Not surprisingly i have many many more red crosses than green ticks

nearly forgot - spa days - not interested

I will enter most other things that have a decent resale value

I don't generally enter for blu-rays (I don't have a player), anything perfume-related (I have sensitive skin and can't use it, so what would be the point?), spa days (they don't interest me) or anything baby related (I don't know anyone who has a baby).

I don't enter anything that needs Facebook or Twitter (I don't have an account with either) or most Rafflecopter ones (which generally need FB or Twitter if you want more than one entry).

I also don't generally enter any competitions run by lads' mags or similar, as I don't like the idea of supporting that type of company.

Perhaps it's not surprising I haven't had a win yet!

fishing comps - no interest, english football comps for the same reason

I enter most - only started doing baby comps though as have a few babies about to be born in the family

I dont do most single over night hotel stays as I dont drive so most would be a hassle to get to
