Morning all - not too late after my late night last night - but could I sleep - no way!!!! Caught up with the Fred last night - just love your new kitten Natty. Love to all with appropriate sticks spoons and big hugs if needed.
Have searched for meaning of "maiden" on t'internet as thought it was a good northern expression. So here goes for those interested. Clotheshorse (often written as two words, ie clothes horse) also known as a winterdyke or a clothes maiden, refers to a frame (usually wooden, metal or plastic) upon which clothes are hung after washing to enable them to dry. Compare with washing line.
Apparently clothes horse is southern expression and clothes maiden is northern.
I am so old I have dim memories of helping my nanna do the washing in the back garden using a dolly tub, washboard and a posser!!! ( only 58  but feel like 98 today!:rotfl:). Nanna took in washing to keep the family after she was twice widowed and lost her son aged 20 in WWII - and we always lived with her until she passed away.

Tremendous Tueday Basics
S&S toilets and sinks
Hoover and mop the bathroom floor

Bedroom Declutter
Start with yesterday's undecided pile. Ten minutes with fresh eyes make a decision for each item whether you really need to keep it or if it is going in the get rid of pile. - internet research re cost of summer weight quilts
[STRIKE]Today's aim is to deal with all the stuff that is hidden
away under the bed, on top of the wardrobe, in drawers. Concentrate on one area
at a time.[/STRIKE]
actually did yesterday as only 2 u/bed drawers and 2 empty bedside chests - v small room but was stacked high!!!
[STRIKE]
Empty everything out
Hoover or dust inside the drawer/under the
bed
[/STRIKE]bed too heavy for me will have to wait
Think I will move on today to the small study room where we keep all our books -and the cushions for the garden furniture as the garage tends to get damp! It is due for a clear out so will go back to yesterday's list and start in there again.
Bonus side effect of yesterday's busyness was that iIhave also decluttered 1.25 pounds of weight - yay me!!!
Have a great day everyone - will catch up later.
Just going to do a quick 5 minutes PIIIP ( put it in its place) exercise downstairs to keep on top of things.

Good morning,
After shower, getting dressed, having breakfast with kids and dh and taking kids to school: unloaded and loaded DW, cleaned countertop (I put a post it note on the counter last week, saying "put it in the DW", and the kids are starting to put their cups and plates in the DW, cool :-) well okay, sometimes not, but there's a atart), prepared dinner.
Good start of the day.
Now I'm taking some time with coffee, thinking what I'll do today. Plan for meeting girlfriend changed, and I suddenly have a lot of time.
I'll start with:
Tremendous Tueday Basics
S&S toilets and sinks
Hoover and mop the bathroom floor
shine mirrors
and I'll spend some time in the master bedroom
have a good day!!

I'm in a foul mood. Didn't sleep well thanks to nightmares and another panic attack.
DD2 was a nightmare to get moving this morning  she only just left for school now (8.35), so she's going to be late! She promised me yesterday that she was organized for today but clearly not when I'm having to run around after her!
All I want to do is go back to bed but can't. I have to force myself to go to we!ghtw@tchers this morning. I haven't been for a few weeks and I know today won't be a good result:( That will be most of the morning taken up! Hopefully I'll be able to get something done this afternoon, either that or nap

Wendywitch, hugs. Hope your day improves.
Well mine has. I've sorted DD's mattress (I'm hoping she'll never know) and bedding, done the basics in downstairs loo and bathroom, taken washing off airer and put away, done a quick hoover through the house, put two bags of rubbish out after emptying all upstairs bins, and I've walked the dogs.
Paid stuff now. I intend to take a lunch break today to do some ironing and will see if I can catch up with kitchen basics later, but probably not.
Catch you all later.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Morning all
Dreadful night of hardly any sleep so I'll crash by 2pm I expect.
Beautiful sunny morning again for the school drive. DS3 was his best yet this morning so hoping things are passing.
Builder due at 9:30 to discuss the new kitchen door so a quick tidy in the kitchen is the order of the day.The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Morning all.
Hugs, spoons, vibes and luck to allCan't remember a thing I've read
I'm going out to run errands today, just as soon as I've washed my jeansI have 2 pairs that fit (I'll have more once I've lost some more weight, why do jeans which are from the same shop and the same size according to the label, be so different in fit!?!?!), 1 pair I wore all weekend and was going to wash tomorrow while I had a 'at home' day, and the pair I'm wearing now. Only I've just dropped my buttered crumpet on them so I guess I'm doing a WM/TD load before I go anywhere!
My room is pretty tidy, everything under the bed is already sorted as I did that just before Christmas. It doesn't take long as its a box for the bedding for my bed, another box of towels for the bathroom, a suitcase with overnight and vacuum-storage bags in (For when all the fleeces, quilts etc go away after winter), another suitcase which has my next size down clothes in, a box of wrapping paper/bags/bows/cards, a box of toiletries (deodrants/razors/bodysprays etc) for DD and myself, a box containing my 'good' shoes & small bags (I live in trainers and use a canvass messenger bag most of the time, but I sometimes swap them out to boots and black 'leather' bags if I'm dressing smarter for some reason) and one more box which is storage. That last box contains things like flattened boxes from DVD/CD box sets, the freeview box for the TV that goes in DD's room, my Christmas earrings/hair accessories, keepsakes from the past year which will go into my long term keepsake box this weekendMy sewing machine lives under there (A light weight one from Arg0s so I can lay it on its side), a box containing the other sofa cover, and a box of nailvarnish & accessories. I like my boxes
I also have a spare pack of toilet roll under there which I think I might use up before buying more. It has a competition on the packaging and the closing date is January 2011 :rotfl::rotfl:
Only other storage is the top of my wardrobe (more bedding which is sometimes used, and a box full of craft felt), and the pile of boxes filled with charity donations which I'll get collected sometime in March after DD and I have been right through the house decluttering again. Its mainly her outgrown clothes ATM but she's sorting her room out this weekend (ex is away so won't be coming to see her) as she can't move in there!
I have my paperwork for my tax return, my 'work' laptop is out, so once I'm changed and the washing is on I can do that. I'll also get the credit cards paid, transfer the money to pay for my delivery which is due tomorrow, update finances and do some washing up. DD is having a bath tonight so I'll leave the bathroom for today and do it tomorrow instead.I have quite a few things to watch on the goggle box so I'll do that while I do jobs.
Catch you all later :wave:Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Morning all,
Off to a much better start today, I've had a bath, done make up and hair, got ds8 ready for school (he went in with his friend this morning so no school run for me!). I've given the bathroom a once over, left the shower curtain soaking in bleach because it stinks - DH WILL NOT leave it pulled across to dry in the mornings! I've also put a chicken in the oven for dinner later, done the washing up and cleaned the sink.0 -

Love the acronym! Does it apply to husbands too? :rotfl:Am I right to assume anything before Apr 2006 can go, keeping stuff for the financial year Apr 2006-2007 onwards?
The note in the front of my tax returns file says (in the words of my accountant when I was self-employed):
"Keep all invoices, bank statements and tax returns for six years from the end of the tax year, o.e. when you have done your tax return for 2012-2013 destroy everything from before April 2007" and so on every year.
The 2014 stuff that you generate now can be destroyed after April 2020
My piles of paperwork shrink nicely every May as I've been retired for 5 yearsand I should soon see the end of them. At one point I had 5 five-reams-of-A4 boxes full of invoices. Oh the joys of self-employment!
A load of aggregate has been dumped on the drive this morning and the pile of rubble and other rubbish is being taken away as I type.
Going out now to declutter some hair and then hopefully more lbs at SW.0 -
