OO, can I ask what a maiden is? Is it a clothes airer/metal pole stand up thingy? Or is there a secret thing I don't know about??

I have no idea what it is but every time I read maiden I can imagine a little old lady being moved about the house with clothes dangling of her arms but I'm a bit weird.

Happy birthday CoffeeQueen I hope your Daughter is better by the morning.

I am in thank you for the lists :)
  • Ah ha ha, lozzy, you really made me laugh. Is her hair in a grey bun and is she dressed like she's living in the 1880's?

DH is in a stinking mood and I am trying my best to be a ray of sunshine. Even if I would rather punch him in the bicep and tell him to stop being such a big baby :p

    N'night all xx

With 3 DS's and no tumble dryer I really hope there's something else better out there?

Angela 84 - suggest you could look at La**land website for their heated airers - different sizes. I nearly went for one when my td needed replacing. They get great write-ups.

V tired now as have had an hour playing with next door's 5 yr old and just finished 3 hours WWI work!!!

This is very late for me - pelase don't expect me to be bright or breezy tomorrow.:rotfl:

Today I went grocery shopping and did some errands. I like to have a pantry filled with basics for a few weeks. My pantry was quite empty, and i bought a lot to fill it up again. so I decided to clean it before putting away the groceries. It's in our tiny basement in which I cant stand up. Must say i'm proud I cleaned the shelves, I even rearranged, put in some extra shelves. It was nice to put away the groceries. I've been putting this off for ages... Glad I finally did it!
Tomorrow I'll clean the rest of the basement, or actually... I need to declutter in there first...

The rest of my day was filled with a dentist appointment, taking dd to swimming lesson, tidying up LR and relaxing on the couch after. A busy day!

Tomorrow I will take a more serious look at the list, but I'm already inspired by it even without using it. I think this is an interesting forum!

Today's aim is to deal with everything you can see without opening drawers/cupboards, looking under beds (don't worry that will come). For some this will be easy for others a huge challenge.

Imagine how you would like the room to be at the end of the week.

Now pick up an item (cloth in hand to remove the dust as you go;)) and ask youself:

    Do you love it?
    Do I use it?
    Do you need it?

Take 3 large boxes or laundry baskets, anything which gets 3 yes votes goes in the to keep box. Anything which gets 3 No votes goes in the get rid of box. Now the tricky bit anything with some Yes votes you need to decide on whether you keep it or not. You can have a undecided box but try not to put too much in there (or you'll regret it later on in the week ;)) Try not to keep things just in case you may need them, because somebody gave it to you, because you feel you should love it.

The first 30 minutes is usually the most successful so get off to a good start and then have a break or your ability to make decisions will decrease.

    Tremendous Tueday Basics
    S&S toilets and sinks
Hoover and mop the bathroom floor
    shine mirrors

    Bedroom Declutter
Start with yesterday's undecided pile. Ten minutes with fresh eyes make a decision for each item whether you really need to keep it or if it is going in the get rid of pile.

Today's aim is to deal with all the stuff that is hidden away under the bed, on top of the wardrobe, in drawers. Concentrate on one area at a time.

    Empty everything out
Hoover or dust inside the drawer/under the bed

Now back to the same rules of yesterday only putting back things you love, use and need. The other things add to yesterday's boxes.

When sorting clothes be realistic especially with clothes which have not fitted for a while, will you ever really wear them again? Winter clothes which you have not worn yet this year, what is the reason? If they need cleaning/mending/debobbling leave them out and get this done so that you can enjoy them.

Thanks Dusty and Natty for respective lists. Unfortunately, due to previous committments, only got a little bit done today and not much more will be done tomorrow as I'm out most of the day. That said though, am very pleased with the result of today's effort - it looks as if more got done than actually did! Weird .....

    Good night all.

So my theory that today was going to be easy was a mistake. My bedroom was purely a putting away and removal of what doesn't belong exercise. It will be different when we have to go inside closed doors. However DD1 was off school ill and DD2 just didn't want to be put down. DD1 is going away with school on Friday and with having terrible Asthma I'm taking no chances with a cold. I did get a lot put away and my bedroom somewhat echos now lol. I have had to stop as Tiny is asleep so moved onto ironing and the basics.
I have removed tools that are for jobs to be done - that have been there since last July and baby clothes that I need to store away.
I'm going to get Tiny weighed tomorrow as I think she is about to outgrow her 3-6 month clothes at 4 months. She is a strange one, her feet are still 0-3 month size as is her head, her legs seem to want 6-9 months and everything else is 3-6 months. She's loosing her hair from cradle cap / eczema and yet she's still Tiny.
You have all been very busy today - well done.
Sorry to hear that so many people are ill, sending get well soon vibes.

    Marvellous Monday Basics

[STRIKE]Wipe the kitchen sides (just what you can
    see)
Clean the kitchen sink, slosh some soda crystals and
    hotwater down
    Hoover and mop the floor[/STRIKE]

Oh boy, this may take a while.

    Morning everyone.

My bedroom is the tidiest place in the house so doesn't take much to do.

Today it's my long day at my voluntary job but will get a few bits done before I leave. Particularly cat stuff.

Natty Aww. What a lovely wee kitten.

Hugs, spoons and sticks where needed.

Morning all. Not the best start to the day as one of the dogs has done a wee on DD's bed, right through to the mattress. I've managed to get the duvet in the WM but am not sure either will survive judging by the noise.

So first job, sanitise mattress, then I will do today's basics from the list.

    Have a great day everyone.

I have a lakeland heated airer and its very handy - but they are expensive for what they are. Its a godsend for getting things dry that cant go in the tumbler though.

Thanks Mumof2, we do this every 8 weeks but I always get a bit nervous. Just hope we can get there without any traumas.

Things are fairly organised, should have got the washing off the airer but it might have to just stay there for now. Need to get dressed and go into work for a couple of hours before OH picks me up to go to hospital.

    Have a good day all.
