I've never really understood those people who do all their shopping in 1 store.
I've always shopped around and made a purchase in here and another here in order to get the best deals. Tbh I rarely spend over £5 in one shop!
But I'll happily go to Tesco,Sainsbury's,Morrsions,Aldi,Lidl,Farmfoods and Asda all in 1 day to get the best bargains!

I rarely go in any supermarket .
meat from butcher's in bulk
fruit and veg from local smallholder/veg shop
rest online monthly
To travel to every supermarket would take hours plus fuel spend?
how do you know what is the ' best bargain ' unless you go to each shop , compare prices then go back to buy the cheapest?Vuja De - the feeling you'll be here later0 -
Given your username, I'd hazard a guess you're in London and have all of those supermarkets relatively nearby?
For me, the cost of driving to the nearest Morrisons, Aldi, Lidl, Farmfoods or Asda would likely outweigh any savings. We have a Tesco, Sainsburys and Iceland nearby - but to be honest, with the pricematching services, I tend to do one or the other. Generally Sainsburys would work out more expensive for the sort of products we buy on average (we mealplan so shopping list tends to be similar month on month) so it's mostly Tesco, unless we know of a particular deal that would be a good saving to us.0 -
As Tesco, Asda and Sainsburys all price match anyway I wouldn't bother to go to all 3 Asda even give you an extra 10% off. Personally Im an avid glitch/ whoopsie/ yellow sticker shopper. I might do one big online shop a month for heavy tins, cleaning stuff extra but then hit the local Tesco at 7pm a couple of times a week for bread, milk extra. I cant see visiting every supermarket as time or petrol effective I'd rather be on here and hotdeals looking for more bargains!0

I also shop at the local butchers etc I buy as little as possible in the supermarkets, I would also waste money on fuel etc if I drove round the supermarkets as none are in walking distance.

By working in a supermarket on the checkouts I can tell you that brand match or whatever the store does NOT mean you have got the cheapest goods!0 -
We only have Tesco, Coop and Aldi so I mainly shop in Tesco but go to Aldi once a week. I also get meat and eggs from the butcher and some fruit and veg from the greengrocers. The Coop is the nearest shop but I find it expensive for most things so only go there in an emergency.0

As a plain ol' customer, I don't believe it does either, but if the store aren't nearby you'll spend a lot of time and money just to save a few quid - it may not be the cheapest way to do things for everyone0

For me the OP's method would cost more in time and money than any savings-and for me time is money anyway-bit different if you're retired maybe though.
My local Aldi is five minutes walk, Iceland seven minutes and big Co-op ten.
Aldi is my main stop -no brainer due to location and pricing, Iceland visits are rare and Co-op I use now and again as I think they are more expensive but I off-set that with 10% off with an NUS plus card.
Tescos , ASDA , Sainsburys and Morrisons all require driving so unless I'm going past for something else I won't bother- it's not worth a special journey. I'll sometimes use the twice weekly market for veg and eggs and there is a decent butcher close by but five supermarkets in a week ? I'm not that much of a masochist !!I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -
I use public transport and buy a season bus pass so if I don't travel I feel I'm wasting money! |This is why I love the big city and wouldn't want to live anywhere outside of the Capital!0
