But for example if eBay was to close my account, is there anything to stop be signing up again?

Hello Wirm, I think that if you opened another account with the same details you can get that little icon to show you were someone before! I think you can have them both active so if ebay kills one you can still have another!? perhaps you could ask ont he ebay boads they are quite helpful there!

If you have linked accounts and get NARUd on one then they will close them all.

Even if you try and re-register using different bank account details you can get caught I know as I had a bidder a couple of years ago who ended up with three strikes against him and was NARUd. A couple of months back a relatively new bidder won one of my auctions and when I completed the invoice for some reason I recognised his address, It is an unusual one and it had stuck in my mind.

I made a report to ebay that he was an 'unwelcome bidder' (I'm not sure if that alert still exists) and said that I believed this was a bidder who had previously been NARUd under a different user id and within hours his account was pulled.

I assume they don't cross reference all the names and sign up details especially if you use a different card and different bank account to register but are quick to act if a link between accounts can be traced.

    Wirm,

Great idea, came across a handful of these annoying "auction of links" of late and duly reported them, making it increasingly difficult for honest buyers and sellers. >:(
  • Haven't reported any link items (they take too long to do and I did do one once myself - item sold for £150.00 (silver PS2) but I didn't have the heart to take all that money and send a link so I sent them a brand new PS2 from Amazon @ £130.00 to which they leave me neg. feedback! ) - they take too long to go through and find the bit that says link even if you Ctrl-F it.

I have however been reporting feedback sales where you can "buy" feedback. I think these are even worse than link auctions as someone can go to a few of these, build up some feedback and then go on to sell links or simular.

I've reported quite a few link auctions that just don't get pulled.

Ebay say they rely on members reporting these things then don't do anything about them!!

Get your act together Ebay >:(
