Hi Ally,
I wouldn't risk your own ebay account by e mailing buyers as that is considered interference. In this case the buyer is either very naive or very stupid, the seller feedback is appalling and the auction is clear this is just for a link. Just read the feedback. I do wonder how many times an auction needs to state something before people read what it says.
I just think sometimes that however hard it seems we cannot save people from themselves. I lost a friend once who tried to lure me into a pyramid scheme, I showed her the press reports about the scheme, I referred her to a website that exposed it as a scam and she just insisted I was wrong. When I refused point blank to sign up she sent me a note at work telling me that she hoped I ended up bankrupt and that when I did she would stand at the county court and laugh at me.

This link takes you to the relevant policy page about URL's. Towards the bottom, there is a link to report listing violations of this nature.
HTH.

angelcake,
Reporting these links to ebay is perfectly acceptable via the proper ebay links and won't hurt your account at all. The thing I was warning against was contacting bidders direct as that can be construed as interference.
Contacting ebay via the report links is never a problem and is the way ebay police themselves. However, don't expect all the links to be removed, I'm finding recently that many auctions I have reported never get pulled even when they have days and days to run.
On a related note, has anyone noticed the increase in certain categories on the surcharging for paypal? There used to be a direct link for that which seems to have co incidentally disappeared.
