    indeed :)

(my personal opinion is that it is legit, but Sky doesn't tell its left hand what its right hand is doing)
(my secondary opinion is that if it isn't legit, the scammers have gone through a whole hell of a lot of trouble for no good reason as the data could be gleaned from that email in other ways. And we'd be about to see a sky hack expose)

It's just bizarre... I emailed the CEO earlier, complaining, as felt that if it wasn't genuine, Sky were doing s-- all to get it off their domain. Looking forward to his response now... :D :rotfl:

Yep - sounds about right! :rotfl:

I haven't been particularly concerned that this was a scam, as I get plenty of other emails originating from the same Sky address simply giving me new program updates and other info (would I scammer really bother to go to all this trouble just to launch a competition to extract what is actually very little personal data?). However the whole debate has been very useful on this thread, and shows above all how well everyone within MSE looks out for each other to make sure we keep safe in the scary world of the internet! I, for one, have learned a lesson about taking a bit more caution! :D

Well done to those who followed it up with Sky to get a definitive answer :T :T :A and after all this trouble, fingers crossed the winner eventually comes from here!! :rotfl:

Hopefully lots of non-MSE people will have been put off, not entered, and bettered our odds of winning. :rotfl:
