If it isn't legitimate then whoever sent the email has access to Sky's database as the email I have received uses my email address which I used for sky which I don't use very often and is addressed to my husband whose name the account is in. Only just seen this so will tweet Sky as well and see if they can confirm it.0

We are Sky customers (hubby is the subscriber) and he had an email to his Sky address about the comp, so I would say it's genuine.Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £26,322.670

I remember hearing about something ages ago where Sky sell on details to companies and they then use them to try and sell you "insurance" on your sky products (sky insurance is provided by a third party NOT sky itself). They use all your sky details to make you think its legit and you are getting a cheaper deal on your insurance and it isn't, its a scam for your card details. Emails come with proper sky logos, links to the website etc because sky do use the company (or one attached to it).
I'm not speculating if this comp is legit or not I would just be very wary as I remember a lot of people were conned by it at the time. If you have any doubts please don't enter. Everyone is so nice and helpful on here I would hate for someone to get conned.A to Z challenge:

Just had confirmation from Sky on their official twitter feed that this is NOT genuine:-
"I can confirm that this is NOT a legit competition from Sky, so please don't provide any of your details. Thanks for bringing this to our attention, Tom"
I replied to him that this is very worrying as the email had personal details in it so hopefully they will look in to it!0 -

It is also based on the official Sky website, https://www.sky-competitions.com, that they are using for another official comp :eek:0 -

Very confusing - I see that you have raised that with them. Hopefully we will get a proper reply!0 -

So it seems even Sky don't know if it's a legitimate competition! :rotfl:0
