Thanks guys. Dropping in to update so you know I haven't gone AWOL!
I think if the membership had run straight on from the course they would have all leapt in as we have a forum for the course which is very active - I give them daily tasks so always something to post about. This one has mini tasks and the folk there are getting started but it is of course slower than when you have 25 people all enthusiastically starting the course! Thanks for the offer Steph but the forum is private for now for these people so really need to be them getting on board. Had another today so it may just be slow - another couple and I think we have enough - i will send another reminder email.
Feeling really down about everything today - just a grey day - which is ironic as there are blue skies for once! Have dentist this afternoon and a long list of things to do that I am struggling to get on to. Need to do a couple of pomodoros I think. But lunch first!0 -
Good luck this afternoon!
I can understand you feeling down - you (we) put so much into building something up, and you *know* that its going into a crowded marketplace, but it still hurts that everyone doesn't leap at it and proclaim it the greatest thing since sliced bread ... take it easy, and be kind to yourself. (EDit: you know what, things go badly for me at home if I'm hungry ... just a thought).
Steph - you poor thing! Well done on answering the phone, and yes, changing the ringtone sounds a really good idea.
I wondered about offering to join the forum too, miz - but I've only got lay knowledge about dogs, I'd stand out like a sore thumb :rotfl:
Take care.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Aaaaw Miz, so sorry to hear you are down, we all have low times when for various reasons we are struggling.
Sounds like the website is picking up though which is a positive sign.
Maybe you need to be kind to yourself tonight. Have a nice long soak in the bath reading a favourite book or listening to favourite music. Something that makes you feel relaxed and better.
Do you have anything spare in your FUN money for a small treat. Choccie or cake??
Sometimes we just need to be kind to ourselves.
ps. I deleted a post by myself here just now as I had a blonde moment and accidentally posted it here and not on my diary..ooops0 -
Keep posting Miz, the grey day will have a silver lining, it's just yet to shine through.
And your sig is looking great - you've ticked over another number and are now way down into the 7s - that is fantastic news, well done :j
Look forward to Crufts and hopefully lots of opportunities to market your business as well as a great day out. Try and focus on the things you can change and move forward, and pop to one side the things you can't for now.
Sounds like the party is at yours then with the snooker table! What a great find for free fun and social time.
Hope the dentist was gentle.Back on the DFW Wagon:

Great! Turns out I don't need a crown after all - I need two!:mad::mad: So that'll be £805 including today's check up! _pale_ I've said I can't do it all in one go so am going ahead with the first one and hoping to get the second one done over the next few months but sooo much money!
And I still have no clear plan how I am going to make anything in March - let alone this extra to the extra! Aaagghhh!
ps thanks for coming by - don't know why I am feeling so low. If I still had any I'd blame hormones!0 -
Argh!
 Bleep, thats a lot of money. Better to keep what you can, though, and pay for it, than have every bit of a tooth yanked out
Know what you mean about hormones :rotfl: but seriously, meteorological events can have emotional effects too - maybe there's a low/high pressure on the way? (I'm not sure which way round it is, sorry). I know thunderstorms can feel very oppressive, very headache-y.
Hope you sort it soon :kisses3:2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
:grouphug:
Bleep-bleep as well! You're going about it the right way and spreading the work and cost, not adding to the CC which is good.
Write today off and start afresh tomorrow - definitely air pressure has changed, my sinuses are playing up and giving me a headache.
Is there anything loitering that can be eBayed to raise some cash?
I'm positive you'll bounce back with a post that starts 'I have a cunning plan....'Back on the DFW Wagon:

Got an early night (for me anyway) yesterday and feel SO much better today. Still not sure where the extra money will come from but not feeling so down and grey. Am going to press on and get my online course repackaged as a standalone product then think about how I package my local work. Realise I have rubbish exposure locally which hasn't been an issue up to now as I didn't really want local work but it would be good to do a little more of it. Website need revision and need to look at contacts with local vets/rescues etc.
On the finance front - nothing unexpected. OH has some money coming in from additional work last month so will count that towards our target as it is additional to salary. Will wait till it lands in the bank account though.0 -
Ouchie, lack of sleep can be a real killer - glad you caught up a bit. Local contacts would be essential, I guess - I went to a writer's workshop last month, and one of the women there was in pet-related self employment - she gave me her card, and thats what made me get my own cards, to publicise where necessary.
Good luck with the squeaky finance ...2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
